or you can take it that he is a complete fu cktard who has lost the plot.funkyfreo said:Seriously though, I saw him solo about 3-4 years ago I think - maybe not that long, and he was so happy and having a great time, new kid etc he was Mr Happy. But then a gig I did not attend in Freo only a couple of years ago apparently he fell onto the drum kit. You just have to take that from genuine from the heart musos, as opposed to choreographed and calculated bands.

I know i would be seriously annoyed if the "performer" who was fronting a band I had payed to see was slurring, falling over, and generally unable to do his "job".

I saw him at the ANU in Canberra in 91 and he lasted 3 songs before barfing into the crowd and being taken offstage...Leaping Lindner said:When they played Adelaide in 1990 Shane lasted about a minute into the first song and collapsed. Spider Stacy did the vocal honours for the rest of the gig.
IDGAF said:Hardest working band in rock history ? i`m sure you are just embellishing for the sake of the arguement ......but for the record , that is cr.p
funkyfreo said:Timmy is a dead set aussie legend! You just have to accept he will sometimes be very drunk. As a frequent UamI gig attender, as well as the twin set, and on his lonesome (Evan Dando, Tim and Bob Evans at the Watershed in Perth was a true classic night out lasy year), the only thing that surprised me about the initial report is that he was only "allegedly" drunk.
Ya pack of wowsers, all great rock bands have days they push it too far - I'm sure you could find ACDC, Stones, Doors, whoevers, have all been ********e and drunk on their days.
As for the Muttonchop criticism - that is way way out of line.

I'm sure Missy will get over it, knows he is a legend, and they will kiss n make up.

The invisible mullet said:Well to be fair there was enough talent in that band (3 other vocalists) to still have a pretty good concert so I still got value for money. That said Brixton 2001 he went the distance and was in good form and it was a cracking concert.
The Super Grass said:Dont worry Otaku. I hear Milli Vanilli are reforming
The Super Grass said:Doh!
Yu were meant to say 'isnt one of them dead".
To which I was to reply, "And the difference?"
You pass music knowedge with flying colors due to you lack of bad music knowledge.
otaku said:so, you went to see three decent musos, and one bellend.
Fair enough.
otaku said:you admitted it was a better concert when he wasnt puking his guts up into the crowd.
It seems you agree with me, but are to worried about your "image" to say so
i feel sorry for people like you. By the way, who is Ronan Keating?
The invisible mullet said:Image? What drugs are you on?
The 2001 concert was better but the 91 concert was value for money as well. And 3 decent musos - well no I paid to see 8 great musicians perform great material - one was burning himself out(and eventually the band) but he's no bellend - and the other 7 were still great - and you'd have to be a prime knob not to have expected alcohol to be flowing at a Pogues concert.
You can still take back that Ronan Keating Christmas album (but remember you say it best when you say nothing at all).
otaku said:Seems their front mans images was to get ********ed eh? wow, thats so out there. Pfft.QUOTE]
It wasn't an image it was an unfortunate reality. By that stage he was close to a liability on stage which led to their breakup a couple of years later - in most cases the rest of the band could still put together a blinder of a set (hence they were still great value). Nonetheless he wrote some of the great songs of the decade in direct contrast to the anodyne pap which dominated the airwaves in the 80s.
Come on Otaku we know you know who Ronan Keating is - its okay to like the 20something Daniel O'Donnell.
