Oh, wow.

How good will the Swans be?

What are they giving up?

Just incredible.

OUT: Extra salary cap allowance

I expect Eddie and the footballing community to raise the issue of abolishing Sydney's 'cost of living' allowance.

Fair enough to be honest. System doesn't work that well if the premiers can land the big name during trade week.

Obviously we'll see what we give up but at this early stage it doesn't seem right. I suppose Grundy is going to be the name thrown up a fair bit. We'll have to give up a premiership player otherwise we're bending Adelaide over. Pick 22 heading there way as well most likely.

Twitter suggesting we've been confident of getting him for months now.

As long as we don't have to trade any key players I'm very happy. Having another avenue to goal has really been our biggest question mark and this should put us in a good position in 2013.

You realise there is a difference between "extra salary cap" and "cost of living allowance". In recent years there's been seasons we've struggled to get over the minimum % we have to pay.

who

Will be interesting to see whats given up, since your first pick is pretty much 20 isnt it ?

Hope adelaide play hardball and get decent compensation , thats almost handing sydney another flag

great forward line if tippet gets there

Homesickness is a shit excuse for me. If footballers like Clark or Tippett want to leave, nominate the real reason. At least they've actually wanted to leave the club and been up front about it, unlike Scully, Ablett and the rest of the big $ defectors.

Out of curiosity , if you dont want to trade a key player for another key player and your first round pick is in the 20s , what are you thinking would be given up then ?

Yeah, scrap the extra salary cap. It can definitely be argued it's unfair, especially these days. If they get him...well...icing on the bullsh*t cake.

What a 'top' bloke Tippett is. If ever a premiership deserves an asterix it surely is the extra cap 2012 Swans.
No, Carlton did it illegally in 95. Stop deflecting.

lol, Heath Grundy. I guess it's a worry when someone says "who"? Adelaide boy and only 25/26. Key part of the premiership defence and the Adelaide link will see him mentioned a fair bit I imagine.

LRT to defence. We probably look stronger and it mixes the team up a bit which is needed to keep competing. Tippett and Reid as the twin forwards. Goodes, Mumford and Pyke rotating through.

I can understand home sickness , but yeah , dont use it to get out of a club and go to somewhere not even near your family.

Pathetic

Hm, interesting. I am not sure that is a good thing for Reid, and I wonder if he is worth what we will need to pay him. Not entirely pleased with this news.

Probably the Bradshaw space Kurt would fill. Daniel was on a three the deal 2010-12 and it has been reported we have been down near the cap floor recently. I guess now we know why!
