From where I was sitting Brennan should be thankful he only got 6 weeks!!! A smaller player, looking away after disposing the ball and he came in (feet off the ground) with elbow raised.

The response of Wells and DeGooyer was immediate and swift - but deserved weeks as well. In saying that, from before the bounce the Nth and L'Dale players were all niggle and looking toplay the man rather than the ball.

As others have said, the repsonse of some of the L'Dale players to the McCulloch lying on the groudn was very poor. I had my two young kids there with me and I was tempted to pack them up and go home.

And how the umpires (there are still 3 on the ground + 2 boundary + 2 goal umpires) could end up giving L'Dale a free kick and shot on goal was ridiculous. The umpires for this game were attrocious and never had control of the game (not saying I would do a better job mind).

it looked very bad live and it would be good to see the tape if hutchtv could put it up.
Im sure we'd all like to see it Hutch???
Unfortunatly we will loose a lot of respect in the football community if what happen with Boscott is true as you would never want any player to lie at the tribunal to get another play suspended.
From what I was told it was the Club that has pressured Boscott into giving what evidence he did!:thumbsdown:

Thats interesting, young McCulloch said in the tribunal that Brennan pleaded guilty and Ewing talked over the top of Brennan and wanted to change the plea to not guilty, then Brennan was pretty stern to Ewing that he was pleading guilty, sounds like some of the hierachy at the bombers have some real problems with some people at north hobart

The player he hit was looking the other way. It’s called a KING HIT!
I can’t for the life of me imagine how that’s impressive??
The 2 Lauderdale players were pulling Degoyer off Brennan, not holding him down, big difference.

Lesson in Life Big Black Dog, if your going to yell out " get him off the ground thats footy when a 17 year old is laying on the ground knocked out be prepared you might wear one on the chin. Being 2 m from the incident i wish i had of done it! I liked how Hevey looked around for an umpire after it. Piss poor saying that crap!

Sorry big black dog, as a lauderdale supporter this is getting very embarrassing, if any one was to hit any of our players like brennan did i would hope the retaliation would be as swift and brutal as north hobarts was. I was very surprised he actually did what he did, it reacked of Winter, it looked very bad live and it would be good to see the tape if hutchtv could put it up. Unfortunatly we will loose a lot of respect in the football community if what happen with Boscott is true as you would never want any player to lie at the tribunal to get another play suspended. I will probably have to retract my comments that lauderdale have improved as a club over the last 18 months because this whole debacle has ruined any of our credability

well said 'big pun' like your honesty & unbias appraisal of this whole incident. its a shame there's not more people down there like you down their. if the boot was on the other foot, & as a north supporter, i hope i would have the same outlook as you.
i used to play with lauderdale many years back, but they were cats then. it seems to me since they sold their identity & became bombers a lot has changed. don;t see many of the old cat boys anymore.

Clearly a few North players and possibly a president/ass coach are blogging away on here. Lauderdale people you are entitled to your opinions, no problem. I would not take everything written on here as the gospel truth in regards to what was said on the ground. Its sounds a hell of a lot better (almost admirable) to say I hit him cause he said "what ever" rather than just hitting someone cause there not looking at me and they are an easy target. I agree with everyone what young Tom did was wrong and no one is dirtier with the whole thing as him. I know Hevey well and he insists the only person he bagged was Degoyer. His version is that he went over to check on the young boy and on the way back was whacked from side on. The vision supports this although I will be honest and say for part of the time his back is turned to the camera but he does look pretty lost with what’s going on. But you do see Brown check for umpires before he hits him and then straight after. Boscott is only 15-16 and I would say he has made the mistake of being super honest telling the exact truth instead of sugar coating making it easier for the charged player?? I wasn’t there so only my suspicion. A young kid isn't going to go in there and lie his arse off for no benefit whatsoever for himself. No one from the club would tell him to do otherwise (thats a fact).

Ugly incident for all involved by the sounds of it. Havent seen any footage myself but if king hitting people for the purpose of 'flying the flag' is the norm at these two clubs then some players will see serious weeks during the season.

Windy was quite adept at the prior mentioned talents so perhaps a little of it rubbing off on Bombers players? You'd like to think not...

And to say Brown looked around then punched him..........
Its actually funny

firstly, i am a former lauderdale cats player & now north hobart supporter, not president, player or coach of any capacity. you are intellectually limited black dog. one of your players says something & its fact but on the other hand a north hobart player says somethoing & its bull.... you want it both ways. check what hevey said mate, cos more than one person heard what he actually said. funny thing with this whole incident is if brennan hadn't coathangered the young bloke we wouldn't be having this conversation. lauderdale bombers- never belonged in the tsl, should head down to the taman, might make a finals appearence in the next couple of years.

Since you have seen the video Black Dog, clarify this! Does the coach of NH come in and do anything??? From the footage i have seen, no he doesn't, in fact he stands beside the umpire and looks over his player who is knocked out on the ground with blood coming from his ear. You then see player no. 1 (Alex Hevey) walk past the player on the ground and say something towards him, Degooyer is no where in site, Brown then turns immediately to him and yes, punches him. I think Mr Hevey may be backpedaling with what he has said, your right though. The coach of NH should not have done anything as he has no right. But stop giving you opinion when clearly you have no idea.

I’ve read all the comments on here and agree it was a pretty ugly episode for both sides.

However, irrespective of how aggrieved either playing group I thinks it’s unkind of people who haven’t been there to suggest that Windy’s “talents” is “rubbing off” on the Lauderdale playing group.

I went to the Lauderdale huddle at quarter time, Windy was very measured/restrained considering what had just occurred, you have to remember he would have been on the spot when TB came off with blood pouring from his face.

Anyone who’s been to huddle would know he addresses his players in a very quiet manner. I had to listen carefully to hear what was said. He focused on the game and how he wanted them to set up and pressure North Hobart when they were attempting to clear from the backline. He specifically told his players to concentrate on that irrespective of whether North Hobart wanted to go on with it after the break.

My observations of Windy is that he’s been very professional in his approach since taking on this role and I’ve seen nothing to suggest that’s he’s doing anything other than getting a young group to focus on improving how they play the football.

In the colts a young North Hobart player was cleaned up late after he got rid of the ball, had his neck broken and won't play footy for 12 months if at all, another out of character action i would presume and nothing to do with who is coaching lauderdale

Knowing Darren quite well, i'm sure the incident would have brought a little smile to his face, and i'm sure he told his players at quarter time to get on with footy. Thats what he would do, clean someone up then absolutely dominate play, seen it first hand on many occassions. He is doing very well with a young group and a couple of goers. Dingo excluded. He's hopeless. :D

'However, Bombers football director Dean Ewington yesterday said his club felt Brennan's six-match suspension (plus another two matches suspended sentence) was severe for a player who had not previously been found guilty of a striking offence'

Well, this is completely contrary to what 2 lauderdale players have told me today. They cannot belive the club is challenging the decision, and seem quite embarassed by it to be honest.

One of the worst things i have ever seen live at the football, by christ brennan took a swing at young McCulloch. looks worse on the video. deserved every bit of the 6 weeks and nose splattered across his face.

I totally agree mate! I could not think of anyone better to coach my son. He is fantastic for the young boys especially. He has time for everyone from supporters through to opposition supporters and players. I don’t think his integrity can be questioned.

Clinton Brown is a dog and I hope he gets what he deserves with this investigation.

what hevey said was way wrong and not called for but the brown is a sniping little F*ck and does it every year.

weak as piss ant and how he coaches a club is beyond me.

Leave p*ss ant out of it! Brown goes up Monday night. Sounds like you have a massive gripe with C Brown SDOG!

Brown ended up being reported??

Have you played under Brown SDOG? He didn't give you a game? got a state game before you? Ran rings around you on the field?? Must be something!

Im with Ball n Chain, one massive gripe there! Sad really

From what I have heard (2nd or 3rd hand) Thor told the tribunal he felt sick the day after and nose was very sore from the strike!

Must have been a battle to get through the second half if that is the case, which, after seeing the video and the reaction of Thor immediately after the incident, was not the case!
