Tivers went out playing the exact same footy we have seen over the past decade.

Long raking goals
Tracer bullet passes
Wormburners putting teammates under the hammer
Refusing to kick on his right

:D

A very good last match I thought........One of the better players on the ground.
Love ya Tivs.......best for the future !!!

Put more balls on the chests of forwards today than anyone else, and I can recall a number of right foot kicks.
Maybe they showed a different match over here ??? ;)

Coulda, woulda, shoulda maybe played a bloke who'd been getting Best on Ground in the two's all year a bit more in the firsts. May have won the close games we lost. Oh well....... Good luck next year Tivers!

He could've been such a better player with that left boot of his. He showed it again today he wasn't willing to take many shots from his shooting distance and wasn't willing to kick it long.

I actually saw him nail a richmond bloke with a right footed pass.
He's not the best player but hes gone and why not remember him for his good points.

MHill, can you explain to us why you are being such a knob about a bloke who clearly got the best out of himself for 11 yrs playing AFL football? Also managed to play over 100 games in a row in his career and finished third in an AFL clubs best and fairest. Would just love to know your sporting credentials.

Tivendale conducted himself with great dignity this season and I fully respect the way he went about his football under difficult circumstances.

It was terrific to see him go out with a good win on the G and I'm sure the vast majority of Richmond supporters (many of whom have criticised him over the years - myself included) thank him for his service and wish him all the best for the future.

I almost thought for a brief moment that Tiv would do the magical, in his last game

and dare I say it

*whispers* kick on his right. Just to see what the sensation felt like

that moment passed very quickly

silly tucker

That goal he slotted from 60m out was just beautiful. Definately one of the highlights of the day for mine.

Fitting that his long goal today will be the thing I remember him for most as a Tiger.

Without a doubt, Tiva was a player who got the most out of his talent, having come off the rookie list, and 188 games is a remarkable achievement by anyone's standards. Congratulations on a great career.

Thank you Greg Tivendale, a true servant of the Richmond Football Club

I agree, while his merit/quality as a seniors player is debated, I enjoyed those times when he nailed the ball with his left foot, slotting goals from 55m out.

I've copped some slack, but I've never been a big critic of Tivendale, I've always enjoyed watching him.

I'd much rather hear commentators saying "Tivendaaaaaale, on his left from 55 out......" than what you hear more often than not lately, even today.. "poor choice from McMahon.."..

I know the guy was BOG a few weeks back, but he is a poor decision maker. He can run, carry, but as soon as McMahon is in traffic, he generally ends up picking the wrong option... still, nice goal from him on the run today. Nobody is perfect :)

Go Tigers! :D

Congrats to Tivendale as well. Hope things work out for the best for him. :)

Ive always had a soft spot for tiva. I've always loved the way he use to be on the run and drill it from 55m out and then hear the roar of the crowd if it was the sealer or close game.

I'll always remember him for his goal from 60m or how ever far out it was today was great to see him give it his all and go out playing a great game.

Not trying to belittle the bloke intentionally just remembering the whole package that was Tiva, the moment I think of one of his tracer bullet passes I immediately also think of one of his grasscutters at the ankles.

Same goes for everytime I remember him swing onto his left foot and let rip I immediately also think of him trying to always run round onto that left.

Just the way it is and the way I remember him. I can't help it:thumbsu:

the classic memory of Tiv will always be when he had the ball and ran around a oncoming player, then tried to run around another, but found himself running around in a decreasing circle, until he fell into a crumpled heap and here was this sad figure, with his head thrown back, his legs buckled under him and BALL!!!!!!!!.......
It was slapstick comedy at its best, rivalling that of his predesscor and master of comedy Fiora. ;)
