What did we exactly regen on? Because it’s been said, and yet no one knows what that is. It’s already been said a number of times he was offered new terms.

Nowhere has it been written that we will pay the number barrass says and that’s it.

At end of day regen or not, he can’t leave without our permission. Thats all that matters here.

Two firsts is fair price for unsettling a player at another club, whom you are offering a long term deal near $1m per year.

It’s pretty simple. It will be west coast’s fair price. Not hawks fair price. You think port will get fair price for Houston that is determined by destination club?

Imagine Sicily leaving whilst in contract and fair price being determined by destination club. Imagine that!

I’m not arguing over anything, I’m purely pointing out the situation.

And I’m clearly not talking about our picks that we already have. These picks would be extra picks, if we were in the Eagles situation. But we are not.

Not really.

One thing people fail to understand is that everyone is replaceable. There might be some short term pain but ultimately, you won't be missed all that much by your organisation.

Also, most companies don't employ people on set like contracts in the AFL. If they do, they get pretty shitty when employees try to break them.

Contract work is a 2-way street, something handwringers like you in this thread are choosing to ignore

It's the art of contract negotiation to promise the world and sign for the minimum. I cant believe his management let him sign on a wink and a nod. If it was an actual witnessed verbal agreement, it would count as a contract, and WCE could be sued for reneging on it- obviously it wasn't. Everyone at WCE loves Barrass but he has always had the dreamy eyes of an idealist, it was always going to end this way. Goodluck TB

We won't be desperate, Barrass might have to stay if the trade doesn't go through .
Many supporters want him to stay , Eagles have a different set up in list management and Barrass is a quality KPP .

So previous admin offered him certain dollars and somehow pulled the offer and new admin came in, pulled it and replaced it with something lower? Facts are you don’t know what offer was made and what promises were made.

You’re not picking 25 above average AFL level talents in the draft in 3 years without making moves at a minimum or at least starting to getting desperate.

Are you sure it’s our first draft round pick? Nothing conclusive but rumour has it Eagles were super keen on Josh Ward.

I have no inside info, it’s just rumour. How ever it does make me wonder if it’s maybe two players.

Even if Barrass is upset with the club , he is contracted ..Hawthorn have pursued Barrass so Eagles want to be compensated because two months ago Barrass was our player for another three seasons .

I actually don't think this one will prove to be all that difficult.
Both teams are pretty motivated to make a deal, for their own reasons.
Might be one where both sides are a little disappointed with the eventual price, the sign of a fair deal being done.

Well first acknowledgement from hawks supporters that it’s down to what west coast want.

Richmond supporters on other hand are still all over the place when it doesn’t even involve their club!
