My how this guy has improved.
Absolutely mauled the Saints rucks today and set the win up :thumbsu:

He is playing amazingly at the moment, up until this year, i always wondered why he was even on the list.

Have been proven wrong with a few players this year so far and for once i am happy to be wrong!

Big men always take a long time to come on. GWS will be knocking on his door!

Can we play Hille, Ryder and Bell in the same team? Ryder as a permanent forward?

It would mean having a forward line setup at times of Hille, Ryder, Hurley, Crameri, Winderlich and Zaka/Davey

Happy to say this is one of very very few that I called early (and yes, I will brag because I don't get many right :D ) but to me this guy has never put a foot wrong, he's not the athletic modern day Ryder-type but he doesn't have any obvious weaknesses and is infact a perfect complement to Ryder imo. I'm not overally sure that Hille/Ryder/Bellchambers will work, but regardless I'm playing Bellch as much as we need to this year to let him know that he's a part of the future.

Correct me if i'm wrong also draft experts, but going into Bellch's draft, Kreuzer, McEvoy and Bellchambers were the 3 touted ruckmen, in that order. Kreuzer went #1, McEvoy went #9 and we got Bellch with our 2nd preseason pick if you don't mind behind John Williams. People forget just how young this guy is, and he just showed up the #9 pick of that draft big time today:thumbsu:

Awesome game from Tbell.

WTF Do we do with Hille then? Ugh id hate to see him sit on the sidelines as he's like an Extra midfielder but having a ruckmen that can do 41 Hitouts a game is a bloody good thing to have!

Dean Putt was the other notable from the draft i think (went on to richmond but not sure whats up with him currently)

McEvoy dominated games from the forward line in u18 hence he was rated higher, but you're right T-Bell beat him today

He's got as good around the ground, but he's our best tap ruck ahead of Ryder and Hille. The Saints were doing well in the clearances early days, but Belly's dominance gave our mids silver service. I don't know if we can play all 3 in the same side. :(

play all three... one on bench, one up forward and one in ruck... rotate them every ten minutes. play a midfielder (brent prismall) as sub and we are set... imo...

Hey guys my thoughts are as good as Hille is for us, we need to keep Nellchambers on our list more! So throughtout the season we should be playing Bellchambers more and Hille should also play some games but we should be rotating Ryder and Hille with Bellchambers throughout the season allowing them all ample game time and rest. Otherwise GWS will be knocking on the door of Belly and with Hille near the end of his career we dont want to pass up on a possible ruck prospect of Ryder, Belchambers and Daniher? Could be great!! Thoughts?

Not sure we can afford to play all three over the next couple of weeks - we're going to need the midfielders (with noone atm really worthy of being dropped and Reimers, given his form, busting down the door) to go with Carlton and Collingwood. That said, Carlton's defence is their weakest link, whilst there's the argument that Collingwood's defence can be exposed if they're forced to be accountable, there's a solid argument that can be made to support playing the three of them.

Personally, my gut is they'll go with Hille and Ryder. Given the way he's played today, I wouldn't be surprised if they do take all three in. But it'd be a gamble.

Was really impressed with his work in the nab cup, knew from that that he had turned the corner from potential to actual.

I would still go in with 2 talks the next few weeks, don't want to go in too tall.

Well done to him and all his hard work as it is paying off

I'm surprised so many are surprised, showed some excellent signs in the handful of games he had played before this season. Notably Hawthorn 09 and another I can't remember (Brisbane 10? maybe) where he was a genuine target up forward and coming out of the back line.

The ability was always there, and I still think he has a fair way to go, but he is already a hitout machine.

Also, raised this elsewhere, but:

1999 AFL Draft said:
#1: Josh Fraser
#40: David Hille
2007 AFL Draft said:
#9: Ben McEvoy
#83: Tom Bellchambers
