So does anyone know when Belly's contract expires?
Depending on our oppositon there's no reason we can't have Hille and Bellchambers as our 2 main rucks, with Ryder playing in defence or in the forward line.

Certainly giving the MC a big selection headache. Our forward line seems to be working pretty well with Hurley and the rucks playing 2nd tall. If we go in with all of Ryder, Hille and Belch we might be a little top heavy when resting the 2nd ruck.

Extremely stiff if he gets dropped (assuming Hille is fit).

I'd play Hille as the substitute next week.
Sign Bellchambers right now, give him dollars he's our next ruckman beyond Hille.

i think we'd be stupid not to play the 3 rucks now, seriously have to play this kid. Hopefully he can get 15+ games this season so we atleast have a chance to keep him from leaving!

Tom Bellchambers, I'm surprised but not, if that makes scene.. Didn't think he'd come on so quick..
I have no problem playing all three ruckmen in the side, only because if this was the case, one would have to move to be a permanent forward or backman..
So the logical choice would be Ryder, then you would ask yourself if he is good enough to get a game in the side..

Belly NEVER had an issue with taps, it's his work around the ground. He has greatly improved this which is great for the boy.
It sucks for him, but as soon as Hille is fit, he should come back into the side. With 3 on the bench we can't afford to have all three rucks in the side. Hille is better.

Well the fact Davey is likely to get 1-2 weeks may save them from making teh decision this week. Not so sure Hille is going to be fit and it would be a risk to rush him back.

Davey will not even get cited. His bump hit Montagna side on after which montagna punched himself in the face - Fox showed it several times until they got the right angle. Stiff!!

I don't think we should ever play three rucks no matter how good the form of T-Bell is.

We have to way up what is more important to the side - Hilles around the ground work or T-Bell's hitouts to advantage and ruck work in general.

I don't think it will be a problem this week as the form with T-Bell is so good we can give Hille as long as possible to recover.

T-Bell has really stepped up since his Melbourne pre season game where I was very critical of him. Good to see we have another ruckmen for the future and we need to do our best to hold on to him.

He's got as good around the ground, but he's our best tap ruck ahead of Ryder and Hille. The Saints were doing well in the clearances early days, but Belly's dominance gave our mids silver service. I don't know if we can play all 3 in the same side. :(

Hirdy's already indicated that it's a very real possibility. The problem of who gets dropped to accommodate Hille is an interesting one.

I reckon Hardingham out. Hille and T-Bell rotate ruck duties and float forward when required. Ryder and Hurley can alternate forward and back - both are specialists at either end of the ground. Done.

You can't tell me that you haven't contradicted yourself here, albeit unintentionally. I don't think anyone is suggesting that playing 3 ruckmen will be hugely beneficial, the only reason many people are suggesting it is because Bellch is in such great form that he doesn't deserve to be dropped, and dropping him in this sort of form may discourage him and make GWS a more appealing option.

So here, your pretty much saying "Don't play T. Bell, but do everything we can to hold onto him." As I don't think money or years on a contract will be an issue, playing him is the best way to keep him.

I think that because Hille and Ryder are so good around the ground you could easily handle Belly as a 3rd ruck. Really you have two guys who could play perm forward in Hille and Ryder and they can chop out Belly as main ruck option. If it isn't working then you activate sub early and so forth.

Also think that Ryder would absolutely dominate as a roving winger/tall mid. He has shown the athletic capability and could be anything. Might love the freedom to just roam and go where ever.. he potentially could be a Franklin/Richo type..

Hille is ageing and the move to CHF/FF with Hurley could give him an extra 2-3 years as some have already suggested. Also Hille can play through midfield with good endurance and excellent running, similiar to Cox.

I think looking at all these factors makes a strong case for all 3 playing and that would mean Gumby drops off the radar. Also history of injuries and fatigue mean that most of these arguments are moot because not all 3 will be available every week. We cannot afford to lose TBell to GWS imho and therefore we need to accommodate in the seniors as much as possible. Highly likely he will drop off later in the year as he is still very young in big man terms.
