has some talent but allegedly has some pretty big tickets on himself. i think that the only thiig we can confirm about his delisting was that he wanted two years, which we weren't offering. didn't back himself in like Lonergan did in 2008, which was disappointing. could make it, could be washed up come the end of this new contract. it all depends on how he wants to go about it

i said from the start i thought he would be a star midfielder. i still think he will turn out to be one. he really needs to settle down though. one game that springs to mind was in the vfl bendigo were down by 50 odd points in the 3rd quarter so hislop just started fights with pretty much whoever he could find.

he has an unbeleivable attack on the ball and although his skills are sometimes suspect he gets the ball and gets it out. inside midfeilders dont need the best skills eg mitchell, watson, etc. he is pretty good in the air for his size and has above average speed.

i havent came out and said this killed will be a star about anyone bar hislop and although its looking less likely i still beleive he is going to be a star.

Seems like he was worth a late pick has a 50/50 chance of being any good for us and any late pick with those odds is a good pick IMO.

I like the sound of him going hard at the ball it is definetly something we need around the ball. So we drafted Thomson, Hislop and have Coughlin who hopefully makes it back as hard at it in an under midfielders competing for similar positions in the team.

I'll admit to being quite torn on Hislop, and not sure about his delisting although happy to trust the list managers.

He has some very nice physical attributes, attacks the ball and the contest well, big body for a midfielder and has very nice balance and recovery times in the contest. I know others dont rate his foot skills but I always liked his kicking action even if he seemed to lack a bit of creative vision.

I always found myself wanting him to do more though... for a man that loves contested footy he just seems to lack the ability to get to enough contests to really influence a game. Never really found enough of the ball consistently for Bendigo, and was definitely falling behind his fellow draft mates in Houli, Reimers and Jetta.

Was worth a punt with a late pick for the Tigers. He might just be a late bloomer...
