Just on this point, I don't think you can say it would have been close to his full season average at all. You can't extrapolate an 8 game sample to a full season, and to average 32.25 touches over 22 games is insane. Ablett averaged less than that over the whole season, and I highly doubt Rocky would average that many touches, or even close to it, over a whole season.However, when Rock was put 100% into the midfield, roughly from Round 16 against North through to round 23, he averaged 32.25 touches over 8 games. Thats a massive impact, and likely would have been close to his full season average had he sat in the guts since round one.
As a pure inside mid, you'd expect Libba's tackles and clearances to be inflated. As Rock has a better mix of uncontested and contested, you'd expect him to have more marks/disposals. It's not that good a poll really, because Libba is truly elite in his position which is as an inside mid, and that's how people are measuring him. Rocky is being measured as more of a mix, and he's not quite elite in that position right now. Gun player, but not elite.
I think you said it best though. When it comes down to it, they are both fine players.
