Is it the same foot as his plantar fasciitis operation?
I imagine it is..

'Collingwood midfielder Tom Mitchell has suffered an injury setback, with scans revealing a bone stress injury.

The 31-year-old re-joined the main group last week after recovering from plantar fasciitis, however, experienced soreness following his return.

Collingwood’ s High Performance Manager Jarrod Wade said:

“After building up his loads over the off-season, Tom returned to full training last week, and unfortunately, he felt some soreness in his foot,” Wade said.

“A MRI has confirmed that Tom has a mild second metatarsal bone stress injury and he will spend the next two weeks in a boot before we reassess what the next steps are.'

Can you have a bone stress injury that isn't a fracture?
From Google .. so not proclaiming to be an expert.

A bone stress injury (BSI) means that the bones cannot tolerate repeated mechanical loads, resulting in structural fatigue and local bone pain. A delay in BSI diagnosis can lead to more serious injuries, such as stress fractures that require longer treatment periods.

I'm interstate, so we only get dribs and drabs.

I was only replying in kind.
More news from yesterday, we've replaced Wright with Charlie Gardiner from Swans. But you probably heard that one.

And..'Collingwood continues to further invest across all aspects of its football programs to ensure the Club is well placed on and off the field.

This has seen the recent appointment of Matthew Boyd as an Assistant Coach and also Trevor Hendy who will head up the Club’s leadership program.

In addition, Richard Little has been appointed in a strategic role as a List and Recruiting Analyst as part of the Club’s commitment to further bolster and invest in list management and recruiting. Little has vast experience in data innovation and analytics and has joined Collingwood from the Victorian Institute of Sport.

The Club’s commitment to the community and fostering the next generation of fan, member and talent sees the creation of a new initiative titled Future Magpies. As part of this new program, Collingwood has appointed experienced administrator Gerard Jess, former AFL players Lynden Dunn and Dom Tyson and experienced educator and development coach Steve Grace to deliver programs focussed on Next Generation Academies (NGA), Peter Daicos Academy and driving fan development, engagement and talent outcomes for boys and girls, nationally.'

Little Dick is a big one.
Trevor Hendy is certainly good news.

Metatarsal is the toe, is that correct? Hopefully that useless one second in from the outside of the foot.

No clue, so I asked google again..🤣

Metatarsals are not toes, but they are the bones in the forefoot that connect to the toes:

Metatarsals
Five long bones in the middle of the foot that connect the ankle to the toes. The first metatarsal connects to the big toe, while the other four provide stability.

Metatarsals are important for balance and movement, and they contribute to the arches of the foot. They are also the origin and insertion point for many foot and lower limb muscles.
