Honestly didn't even recognise him the first time I saw him in action on Saturday. I had to double check who it was. He's an absolute beast now.

The handball he gave off to Weller for his long goal in the 2nd quarter shows he can make good decisions.

Fyfe came through closer and wanted the ball, and often a player battling for his spot in the team will defer to the captain, but he stayed smart and gave it off to the better option.
Probably going to miss a free helicopter flight because of it too.

Is he actually bigger this season or did he just make more of an effort to be physical on the weekend?
There definitely seemed a bit of intent about him. He did get a run with role last year didn't he? But the key change to me wasn't size, it was attitude. Hope it sustains because it may just elevate him from the vanilla status.

I saw him juggle and drop one near the boundary - were there others?
Early in the last quarter, Crozier to Brad Hill to Stephen Hill who then chipped sideways to Sheridan just outside 50, who dropped the pill. Had enough time to recover and bang it forward where Walters crumbed and snapped a goal.

Dare I mention that he had spent the ball before he had marked it and this time Cyril Rioli wasn't sweating on him like the 2015 Prelim.

I thought he was quite good on Sat but does need to concentrate on mark first before his next play-on move.

Yes. Fixable problem though.

Yeah it was basic.

But Stephen Hill made the first error.
3 of our players were between 45-50m right in front.
McCarthy was one of them.

The ball should've gone straight there.
Stop the highlights package at 5.17
