I did an activity with my class to demonstrate the length of time Aboriginal people lived in their lands before English people arrived. We measured 1cm for each year of English occupation in comparison to Aboriginal ownership. When kids see the difference between 2 meters and at least 500 meters they get an idea about the importance of Aboriginal culture that many of their parents do not understand.
