Yeah ive warmed to him a lot, plays his role in the backline perfectly. Still needs to work on his up and under kicks he shoots off at times, apart from that i dont have much to knit pick at.

I actually think he does a job no one else can do for us, he stops them, runs off them just imagine when his already improving kicking skills get better.

I still freak out every time the ball is even near Toovey. I respect his attitude but he still isn't in the best 22 in my opinion.

He is definitely greatly improved. When he was recruited it was written that he was a self-regulated player, one who self-monitored his fitness and skills - a bit like Licuria, Buckley, Maxwell and Burns, guys that Malthouse could trust to make the most out of themselves. With his speed and height he is a deceptively useful defender against small players. I cannot recall him playing a better game than tonight. Well done Malthouse for showing faith in him against the tirade of abuse he has copped in this forum.

At this stage mine and millions of others assesment of toovey seems to be wrong. Lets hope he continues to improve, because his disposal at times can be a little lacking. But last night his disposal was very good. His game against the scraggers was his best this year.

Don't see anything AFL in him to be honest.

Seems to turn the ball over fairly regularly and will be exposed in finals.

I'll watch the game again, but I do recall a couple of times last night where he had me pulling out my hair.

I dont think bar for one post on Toovey, I have ever posted anything on him. Have I ever posted anything directly to you before?

As I said, I watched him earlier in his short career turn the ball over quite often. Its only the last half of this season he seems to have found his niche in the side and at the same time Cox seems to have lost his.

Barham also seems to have improved his disposal 100% since being out of the side, not even one clanger last night that I recall and also kicked a nice goal and hit some good targets

What are you talking about? I do believe myself and MagpieGirl13 are the ones that have been defending him since day dot.

He needs to do that weekly. By "that" I mean shut down his opponent and not burn the ball (70-80% efficiency).

Against top shelf oppo last week he was found severely lacking. The handball to Franklin...Jebus!

The likes of Toovey and L. Brown can play good games periodically. How do/will they go against real oppo though?
