All the best Toots, it's probably not too long before my dad goes down that path so I understand how his family must be feeling

I wish him and his family all the best. I know first hand how cancer effects families as my 3 year old son was diagnosed with leukemia over the june long weekend just gone.

Damn that's rough :( Hope he recovers quickly. WCH is a great place, my parents worked there for quite a while. Hopefully those Nintendo Wii's me and some mates bought through a bit of fundraising are still going strong over there.

My deepest regards for Toots and his family and friends.

That sucks man :(, best wishes for your son's recovery. Having worked within Oncology/Paediatrics I can tell you that your son is in great hands :)

Having also worked with that team I wholeheartedly agree.

That sucks mate. Wishing you, your son and the rest of your family all the best. Have worked with the Oncology team there a fair bit and you are in outstanding hands. It is truly inspirational to see the way these kids deal with such adversity. All the best.

Geez it can get wild in here and the insults fly but NONE of us wish misfortune on anyone else.

As for Toots , in my brief time on the Bay fighting the horde , he is EASILY the funniest and smartest poster on the power roster.

All the best to EVERYONE :thumbsu:

I'm sorry to hear all the bad news on this thread. Toots sounds like he's handling it as graciously as humanly capable, which is a true show of strength of ones character, in my opinion.

Anyhow, good luck to all in the future.

Best wishes Toots - may the Power be with you.

I wouldnt even mind if you beat us in the next Showdown
(although i must admit i also have other ulterior motives if that happens)

So very sad to hear this news. My thoughts are with you and your family and friends Toots.

Chief Crow, I am devastated to hear you news. I have a 3 and a half year old and nearly 2 year old and couldn't imagine hearing news like you have. Stay strong buddy.

Alex and Macca, best of luck with everything.Hope you continue to be healthy.

My wifes cousin beat a rare form of cancer two years ago but now has Lukemia as I understand it due to the treatment she had the first time. She is looking ok at the moment but its been a terrible ordeal for all concerned.

It truly puts life into perspective and reminds us that footy is indeed just a game.

Lets hope both SA teams can win every game from here on in to give our posting brothers and sisters fighting cancer some relief from their struggle.

Also I would like to thank all of you on the Adelaide and port boards for your contribution to my life over the last ten years. Many a night at home on BF has brought me lots of pleasure. I guess its best to say how you feel now as you never know what may happen in the future.

Good luck to everyone in this thread btw, horrible news and really upsetting.

My girlfriend was recently 'cured' of Bowel Cancer at the age of 23 after going through chemotherapy, but is happy and healthy now - so there can definately be a light at the end of the tunnel.

All the best to all affected in this thread, thoughts are with you all.

Jesus 23 ouch. Hope it all works out for you both.

This is the one that always blows me away. I was diagnosed with this at 26, young, amateur footballer, gym junkie you think you're bullet proof. It always seems to be young people, says a lot for our diets and what goes in food these days I believe.

My cousin, who is a couple of weeks older than me would have turned 40 on Saturday, she died 2 years ago from an incredibly aggresive brain tumour(s). I'm lucky. I'm thrilled for your GF and hope she has many years of good health.

I know this sounds strange but the "c" is not known in our family or friends - we have history of having strokes/massive heart attacks.

I can't possibly fathom the amount of strength that you must all have to deal with cancer.

My heart goes out to Toots, Macca23, Alex is on Fire and Chief Crow and any others that have/had or know others that are suffering from the "c". Your ability to remain positive is amazing.

Bless you all and keep strong.
