Interesting thread. Good to see On The Beach (Neil Young) and Red (King Crimson) getting gongs. Billy Bruford's drumming for King Crimson is a joy to listen to. Also a couple of mentions for Kate Bush who is one of my faves. I would have The Sensual World and The Dreaming as my top two.
Not much jazz so I will nominate Miles Davis:
My Funny Valentine
Kind of Blue
Sketches of Spain
Jack Johnson
Live Evil
Special mention to Keith Jarrett (who played with some of Miles' bands) for his classical recordings, especially Goldberg Variations (Bach) and Preludes and Fugues (Shostakovich)
