No Shane Watson at Euroa Duff Man. I think you mean our legendary skipper Scott Watson. I probably wouldnt have him in our top 5. A very good footballer none the less. My opinion of our top 5 in no particular order.

Shane Clayton
Daniel Sage
Rory Hilton
Nathan Gilliland
Scott Grainger

This is done on talent.

In means of importance to team structure I would go and players hard to replace to keep winning it would be as follows:

Luke Hyatt
Damon Clarke
Shane Clayton
Daniel Sage
Ben Shelton.

Not many sides in the GV could boast a more talented top 5 than that lot..

How has Shelts been going footyboss? And how have you been going?

Keilor top 5 of all time in my opinion ( 85 onwards )

1 Jamie Cuffe
2 Lee Fraser
3 Andrew Willmott
4 Bluey Callahan
5 Steven Long

Unlucky

Nick Garnham
Rick Marcy
Mark Fotheringham
Jason Thorley
Rambo

J.Thorley and N.Garnham ahead of A.Willmott in my opinion! :thumbsu:

A Willmott delivered in the big games , could kick them consistently from 50 and was a true leader , he palyed at Sunbury from 92 and finished in 95 where he won a comp medal and is very respected up there , although in the lesser games he was known to cruise

Jack Smyth is with shepp swans he came bak 2 vt for a couple of years but went back to the swans but last i heard he was injured(again)

as for jimbob he's a very good footballer but not in the same class as these greats

What he lacks in footy he more than makes up being a good bloke. Only bloke ive ever known whose team members like him going to a pub on a friday night as they feel it makes him play better.

Elsum played at Gisborne for 1 or 2 years. You have to have 5 years as a minimum to be a club legend.

This is Cuffe's second team he has been nominated in. - Keilor the other!

Thanks for picking me up on that one Boss. Of course I did mean our skipper Scott Watson, who is not to be confused with Shane 'Skunk' Watson of ex Collingwood fame.

And I know you're only being humble champ, but you easily make our top 5 list. :thumbsu:

How has Shelts been going footyboss? And how have you been going?
Shelts has been going reasonably well. He had a shocker the other week against Shep Utd. where Forys beat him early but he responded last weekend to have another good game. Very realiable defender.

As for me Im slowly getting there. Playing full games now and the fitness is much better. Another few more weeks of solid training and full games, I will be cherry ripe to play properly again barring injuries. 2nd half of the year Im looking at.

How have you been travelling? I see you have kicked a couple of goals in recent weeks.

Ill have a go at Violet Town's from the 80's onwards, open to criticism

1. Andrew Knowles
2. Gary Abley
3. Chris Hayes
4.Peter J. Smith
5. Gary Gerada

Good choices on the five in terms of service to the senior team over the years but what about league medal winners like the man giant noel coutts two league medals and his other year at the club he won on votes but had been suspended for a match earleir in the year.... And the young gun Matt Sharp now playing with Benalla league leading goalkicker and league medalist at the age of 17..... Surely these two deserve consideration.....?? And my third and final choice would be a dark horse but what about the ever reliable bulldozer big Dougy Palmer.... JimBob

hournerable mention to john veran, gary gerada, p.j smith.
Was it 02 or 03 that a young sharp won the league goal kicking with 60 to 70 goals and played a majority of the year off the half back flank. Please set me straight if i'm wrong big tony but if true its says a lot about the blokes talent.

It sais the best players to play at your club.

Werner played for 5 years - Elsum for 2. You cannot be a club great after 2 years. I thought you may have named yourself?

Elsum would not be better than Saunders of Fitzy. Fitzy had 49 possies the other Saturday.

Grubby , i know for a fact that Kingsarmy has never seen any one of his top 5 play more than 1 or 2 games , so i dont know how he came up with these names , in fact he admitted to me he's never even seen John Fitzgerald play ,whom he had at number 1. i guess it's like the rest of his posts on bigfooty , all second hand info . to state you have to have 5 years minimum and then put Mick in the top five shows you how much he really knows about Gisborne.

Deni Rovers in the Picola District Football League

1. Ash Germano (silky smooth skills)
2. Benji Hardman (spectacular full forward/ruck rover)
3. Chris O'Connor (young high-leaping ruckman. One to watch)
4. Liam Fleming (markologist at CHB. Fabulous football brain and a top bloke to match).
5. Gerard "the fox" Robinson (clever footballer, who uses the ball well. Can play at both ends)

I'm sure that these blokes are reasonable footballers-how come the Rovers have only won the one game then?

Seen them all BB - your facts are once again crap!

By the way where is your top 5?

RIDDELL FC Luke Mckaskill , Rocky Towers , Tim Rowsell , Adam [flea]Stewart , Steady Eddie . wouldnt be a better wing man in country footy than Mckaskill .

This is how much Bears Boy knows about the game. Once again another crap post by someone who thinks he knows about the game. Maybe it is humour or maybe this bloke is a moron.

McKakill and Flea only plays 2's footy.

Very young side. 11 kids straight out of the 3rds in the past 2 years. Lost a couple of blokes, had a bad run of injuries and not playing well as a team. Would expect a big improvement over the next few weeks, with winnable games and then a more competitive effort in the second half of the year.
We are having a crack, but can only field about 14 in the ressies each week, so the depth is unfortunately not there.
