He’d disappear from home for days – spending long hours at secluded tropical beaches – and he stopped speaking.
But the timing of his disappearance and booking a flight to India the day Toyah was killed at Wangetti Beach, 40km north of Cairns, was coincidental, Mr Singh said.
“He was always going to the beach, he’d go to the beaches near here or up north of Cairns.
He was mentally upset and liked to go away from here.”
“Police told us they have no evidence that Raj killed her, but he is a person of interest,’’ Mr Singh said.
Four weeks ago a police taskforce raided the family home in Innisfail, cordoning it off as a crime scene, and seized personal items.

If the POI Rajwinder Singh was not the murderer or one of the murderers, maybe he saw who was, knew who was, or interacted with who was, and fled the country in panic and fear for his and his families safety.

If the POI Rajwinder Singh was not the murderer or one of the murderers, maybe he saw who was, knew who was, or interacted with who was, and fled the country in panic and fear for his and his families safety.

Anything possible but scratches and bites indicates direct involvement imo. Unless there were two men alone on the beach that day.

He'd been taking off for long stretches of time in the previous seven weeks, according to family and sitting on deserted beaches.

He travelled about 100kms north from Innisfail to Cairns where Toyah was, then on further north again to Wangetti Beach. Was he following her?

It's possible imo he may have been stalking Toyah in those seven weeks he'd been behaving oddly waiting for opportunity. Most women when they're being stalked, don't even know it until the stalker wants them to know.

His family reported him missing three days before Toyah was murdered. Maybe he'd been staying at the Caravonia Caravan Park?

Mr Singh’s family had not heard from him for a number of days when Ms Cordingley was murdered on October 21.

It is understood he flew back to India the day Ms Cordingley was murdered and three days after his own family had reported him missing.

Are Channel 7 nicely positioned for being on the wrong side of a defamation law suit from the POI and/or his family, if the claimed POI is never charged for any offences regarding Toyah Cordingley. Particularly as Police are today reportedly claiming/implying that Channel 7 acted on incorrect, leaked and unauthorised sensitive Police investigation information form a murder case?

Would love to see the advice that Channel 7 legal provided to Channel 7 Management before going ahead with the POI story.

Pretty serious stuff to be reporting on POI in a murder investigation before the Police have formally authorised that this information can be publicly published.

IMO the information is probably correct because the press aren't easing up. They might be printing what the police are putting out now but they've dug in.

3. Desertion: If either one of the parties to the marriage deserts the other for a consistent span of at least two years , prior to the filing of the petition by the other party.
4. Conversion to another religion by either party other than Hinduism
5. Mental Disorder: If the spouse of the petitioner suffers from any unsoundness of mind, mental illness or disorder that cannot be cured, then the petitioner can file for divorce.
6. Virulent and Incurable Disease: in the form of leprosy.
7. Venerable Disease in Communicable form.
8. The renunciation of the world or entered any religious order.
9. Not heard being alive for a period of seven years or more.

# 3 and 9 could potentially be what is happening here.

However my gut is telling me that Singh is a person of interest for several reasons not just because he's fled the country the day after the murder occurred.

Heart breaking.

Troy Cordingley said in a Facebook post today that he felt "lost and empty inside" at the loss of his daughter.

Mr Cordingley said in the post that he had recorded a public appeal with the police that was due to be shown on TV this week, but police had decided not to run it due to "the media undermining their investigation".
This is very disappointing but I completely understand their reasoning once it was explained to me," he wrote.

These are great, in Cairns now and coming Australia wide soon. The Safety Bracelet, press a button and it sends out an alert to anybody who is registered within 500 metres, sends an emergency alert to nominated people or your guardian network and starts to record.

Similar situation after Hannah Foster was abducted and murdered in London. Person of interest (who became the main suspect) married immigrant Maninder Pal Singh Kohli fled to the Punjab within days and disappeared. The police in India and his family initially insisted he'd killed himself. It took 16 months to find him and not until Hannah's parents made the trip to India to appear on national TV pleading for information on his whereabouts.

He'd created a new identity in that time and had even remarried, he was caught just near the border where he was trying to get out of India and disappear into Nepal.

This was in 2003 so technology might be more helpful now, I don't mean to be depressing.
