Decent result for the Dogs all things considered.

Well done Sammy Power. Have a lot of cap space (assuming), bunch of picks next two years and a useful Ruck / Fwd to help out the next few seasons.

I’m crazy.. I reckon we play four kpfs next year.

Richards Keath(if fit) gardner
Dale. Jones. Doc
Baz Libba Treloar
Cody Naughton West
JUH Lobb. Darcy

English Bont Macrae

Daniel JJ pick 11 McLean

I'd be very happy with the overall net result of this trade period if we use the overall assets in 2023 to more quickly try to win the 2024 season.

We need to cash in when we have proven all-Australian recipients still in the prime of their career. Better 2022 and 2023 draft hauls might improve our overall chance of winning the flag in 2030 but it's irrelavent to a team that's recently played off in the GF and has made finals four consecuitve years. Chips in for a flag.

No reason why we can't package our own future first to trade up our existing picks into the top 10 this year.

Teams like West Coast (rebuilding) and Geelong (will have players retire) have picks 7 and 8 that we can do some deal where they move down to 11, take our future 1st, and give us some other current or future draft assets. This gives us an earlier first rounder that will be more likely to contribute earlier in their career, in the next 5 years - like Bailey Smith has already done.

Sad to lose three premiership/GF players and Schache, a GF player, but Dunks quit despite a good offer and the others were surplus to requirements anyway.

Cleared a lot of cap room I’m sure and shored up our key position support, and have a much better draft hand this year and next.

Expect pretty much all of Martin, Wallis, Hannan, Bruce, Keath, O’Brien, Roarke and Duryea to move on (for one reason or another) by the end of next year. We do need to replenish a bit so this helps.

You know, I've rewatched the 2016 preliminary final and Rory Lobb is the only GWS player that came across as a decent footballer and a good bloke ;)

Sounds like Beatson at the Swans doesn't particularly rate this draft. Might be able to get hold of their pick 17 for Brisbane future first
Sydney are keen to trade up.
11 & 21 for 14 & 17? Late future swaps to balance it out.

Not that it matters but it's almost identical on points. Depends who we like in the first round. I know who I want

Crispin Glover is my favourite actor too...

So we head to the draft with 11, 21, 39 and some late picks in 3rd and 4th.

Have a couple of likely retirements and delistings - let’s say 3

We lose Cordy, Schache, Hunter and Dunkley and gain Lobb and Jones - so two list spots there.

So probably take five kids.

And then if we win the premiership next year we will have:

10 (Brisbane tanks!), 18, 30 (F2 Brisbane) and some third and fourths.

So is Hunter the main issue in the group culturally. Would love to know the extent of our issues off field this year.

I really struggle to see anyone else on the list that would be rat bag.

Even libba has pulled in his head in a big way since his kid.

I don’t think we can blame Hunter for everything. To be honest - we didn’t look that committed across the board on field for the entire season.
