How could anyone see Schache as a significant downgrade for Francis? He went 4 picks higher in the draft 2 years ago and they've both shown nothing but glimpses.

He has actually shown a fair bit more than Francis at AFL level.

We probably need a successful Francis type more than a successful Schache type based on list management. But getting Schache is easily the best deal we can get if Francis is determined to leave.

The Francis situation is really tough given the mix of nothing shown at AFL level, but clear talent, and the chance he could request a move him next season anyway, so I wouldn't be upset if he left and we got Schache.
