I heard Gary Lyon this morning drop the Essendon player to Sydney thing too. He sounded legit but also like he couldn't say anymore, Watson deflected. Maybe it's a story being saved for the footy show tonight. Gleeson would hardly warrant holding the cards close to the chest, I'm thinking a Hurley or Zaharakis with the former being an upgrade on Hanners, maybe colyer too? Could we still be blindsided by a Francis trade?

A colyer and Gleeson combo could work

Given the fact that GWS has given the OK for Shiel to speak to a Victorian Club, i.e. one Victorian club.

That club being Essendon.

Is it possible that they have a player(s) in mind as a trade?

Realistically, it would have to be somebody that would fit within their salary cap. They are in their premiership
window, so they would not mind getting somebody in their late 20s.

It could be somebody completely out of left field like Hartley and McKernan + Baguley (BOG when we played them last)
or maybe one of our young backmen. Perhaps a guy like Laverde.

They would want a hooker or Hurley in that scenario

Laverde again? He seriously signed 2 weeks ago.

Not saying we should be trading him... reckon he will click like Langford in the near future.

Just trying to imagine who GWS would be looking at. Griffin has just retired and they are likely to lose Shiel and Lob.
They lacked forwards against Magpies in their final. So guys that can play midfield and forward. Langford would also
appeal to them big time. Even Begley.

Getting rid of one of those two would be like selling one of your kids. Couldn't see it happening.
I would never get rid of them. Just saying Sydney would be after those type of players over the previous post of:
Hartley and McKernan + Baguley

Laverde just re-signed, no chance he’s traded.

Yep GWS will go after a VFL backman, a journey man forward and a guy not long for this league. Of those three only Hartley is possible but GWS is more likely to ask about Gleeson or Zaharakis than these borderline AFL players.
