Can't we trade a future first if we use this year's first?

Wines is a no for me unless we can get him for a mid-first. Even that, we haven't selected in the first round for a while. I'd prefer going to the draft over the next two years. If we're looking at someone from Port, then Drew interests me. Wines hasn't been the dominant Wines he once was for a couple of years now. Not going particularly great this year. McGrath and Shiel are averaging more disposals, CP and clearances. I'm hoping we go the cheaper alternative and look at Constable, Brodie, Sier or Drew. I personally believe Sier will complement our midfield the most out of the 4 but I admit I haven't watched Constable or Drew closely.

The knock on Brodie at the GC is his lack of defensive actions. I liked him as a junior but we can not afford another B grade midfielder who will not defend.

The same Papley that only nominated Carlton? He was never coming to Essendon.
