How tall is he?

Good question. Maybe low 180’s? Short legs/long torso so his centre of gravity is low and bloody hell does he use it to barrel blokes. He’s a carbon copy of his old man.

Don’t think he’ll be on the table but he’s the wrecking ball type you need in the centre.

Just came here to see what you guys were saying regarding Caldwell, but thought I should just point out that other clubs will be after the doggies pick 12 as well.

If any club is going to do it, Adelaide are the ones that make the most sense.

They have the later picks to get it done, but most importantly, they can agree to not bid on JUH. By not placing a bid on JUH with picks 1 and 2 (assuming saints ensure they get band 1 compo), they save Bulldogs the equivalent of pick 25.

I'm sure that's the case but we'd be silly not to pursue it. Could even help with a potential Fantasia trade given they have pick 8 (9 if Crouch gets band 1)

I actually thought that the rest of your hypotheticals were pretty possible. But yeah, if you're going to try and get the doggies pick for combined picks, remember that you will need your package to be worth at least 800 points more to be better value to the dogs than Adelaide's offer.

There is also a limit on how many points a club can get in these sort of deals, but I'm not sure exactly what it is. I remember that back in our Carlisle deal, this is why you guys ended up getting Craig Bird. The deal itself involving Sydney's picks looked too dodgy, but by including Bird in it, it became impossible to argue what picks were associated with bidding upgrades and what picks were associated with acquiring Bird.

Because Beveridge uses him to do weird things, like playing in the ruck.

If he was played as a full-time midfielder I'd say he's an AA level onballer.

That said, Merrett would be worth more on the open market than Dunkley at this point. But if you switched Merrett with Dunkley it's likely both teams would be improved for it.
I think you could say the same for Merrett. We used him as a bit of a defensive sweeper.
Put him back as your prime ball mover - the way he was in 2017 & 2018 - and you get the player he once was.
He adapted well in 2017 with the banned player returning. Bringing Shiel in has been more of a challenge. End of the day, we didn't need that deal and could have spent the collateral better bolstering depth and balance in the middle.

If Dunkley wants out hope Sam Power asks for one of these players Merrett, Hurley, Tipungwuti if not Sam Power walks away it’s as simple as that

Yep deal on Hurley. Would fit Dogs very well.

The limit is theoretically within 200 points of equal value on pick only trades but if a player or a future pick is involved then it is an inexact science. I don’t think it’s strictly enforced anyway.

I'd like to see Hurley move to a team closer than we are who can enable some success (and the 21 goals aside, i do like the Dogs).

Perhaps Hurley & we load you up with points to help with the deficit on JUH

"I'll just let it play out". Yeah Browne. As if you have any input.

Caldwell + Dunkley alongside Merrett, Shiel, McGrath, Parish, Langford & Heppell
Would be our best midfield since 2000.

Draper Dunkley Shiel/McGrath
Merrett/Heppell Caldwell/Parish Langford/?

Yeah it'll definitely have to be a late first or early second. They don't seem to be happy with Essendon and St Kilda offering Caldwell a lucrative contract.
Pretty sure he’s leaving for opportunities though? Cant begrudge him that surely.

They’ll still hold us over a barrel though. It’s McCartney.

Think he might have his hands full with Corr, Williams, Cameron and we will too but hmm.

If we get Dunkley, Caldwell, keep a top 10 pick and have James Stewart kick 60 goals, fix Tom Hird blinking issues, a refreshed Zaka back to B&F form then the skies the limit for 2021.

Not discounting top 4 and a tilt at the flag.

If someone asked me for a 20 year old being offered a 5 year deal I'm asking for a first round pick.
100%. Dunkley is worth a 1st round pick, but if the Bombers want that inside mid they've been chasing for years, they need to pay up.

Hurley i don't think would leave Bombers for the Dogs. If he did leave, i would have thought he'd go to a genuine contender -Top 4 teams this year.

Compared to Brad Crouch, the numbers stack up (other than meters gained). - https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy...d2=2&type=A&pid1=4148&pid2=3633&fid1=S&fid2=S

3 years younger too.

Go get him Adrian!!

GWS will ask for a bit for Caldwell, They're a bit offended at the minute.
so much will come down to what we get for Daniher.
If it ends up being 16 & 17, we could use one of those picks for him with a future later pick back

Daniher -> 16 & 17
17 -> Caldwell & future 3rd
17 & Saad -> 7 & 27
Raz -> 29
27, 29 & 41, Hurley, EFC future 1st -> Pick 12, WBD future 1st & Dunkley (additional 500pts to Dogs and they hold enough to protect against a JUH bid anywhere)
GWS future 3rd -> Wright

In: Dunkley, Caldwell, Wright, 7, 12, 16
Out: Daniher, Raz, Saad, 41.
