If I was in charge of essendon I would trade out danniher and Fantasia. Bring in constable and or Brodie for size and skill in the center and Peter wright and houli.

Our side on paper would be quite good but we thought our side on paper.

Next year we should get back Ambrose and Francis and heppell will be fitter.

I would stop playing Redman, and gleeson only if injuries occur play Stewart as centerhalf forward and larverde at full forward with stringer and wright as other options.

But you said you'd give him that?
It’s a silly hypothetical because no one else is going to offer him 1 million per year.

If someone offers that he can walk.

Ok so 900k year, 800k year, 750k a year?

My point is you need to draw a line

If Danihers going I'm only paying that if it's to fill cap space to reach 95% if that is still a rule post covid

Agree with you and everybody else about the Saad pick won't likely get us anything better than Saad. If he wants to be at Essendon then I hope he stays, he's been one of the very few players you know what we will get from him every week.
Yes, gotta love his consistent effort.. But I do agree that if he doesn’t want to be here we are better off cutting the cord. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that.

That goes without saying but I would extend that to Merrett, Hurley and hooker as well.

Not Hurley and Hooker. Hookers not best 22 and Hurley's borderline and I think the team is better off moving past him if Ambrose and Francis are back fit.

Unless he shows some amazing determination in preseason.

I'm sick of Hurley's sooking he's ridden the Saga for every bit it's worth.

Great servant of the club. Happy to keep him at the club for a year but make it clear he's no automatic pick in the backline and would need to have a good PS to be picked ahead of BZT and need the club to be winning early if that's the case

Liam Stocker

Will he fix our midfield woes now? No
Will he come at a cheap cost? I would've thought so

Everyone's chasing Caldwell and fair enough he's shown more at the level and was touted higher in his draft year.

But Caldwell is going to cost pick 8-15 in this year's draft I'd imagine.

Stocker probably pick 35-45 unless he's doing magical things in 12 aside games this year.

Now he probably doesn't get a gig in our midfield the next 2 years. But he adds depth is a solid size and has upside, we also dont have to pay the world for him. If we can get him for our 3rd round pick (Pick ~40) I'd strongly consider his type.

I might be way off with his worth?

The GWS player we should be chasing outside of Jezza Cameron and Himmelberg if Daniher leaves is Hately

He's a big body mid. Why let him get home SA without asking the question. I'd assume we have and hes said it's GWS or SA

If St Kilda are targeting Taranto like fox are claiming, then we should 100% register our interest. And by register an interest, I mean offer a car as part of the deal. Lol.

If he’s on the market we should offer the batmobile.

lol.
There is little i wouldnt give up for Taranto.

If Taranto is gettable, then Merrett is straight on the table if he is contemplating on leaving us. He's an RFA next year so we'll likely have a whole circus to retain him. If Merrett stays, then I'd throw in a first + Parish (assuming we get a first for Daniher). If Jeremy Cameron chooses to leave, then Daniher is going to GWS regardless of what he wants to sweeten the deal.
That's the best offer GWS will get from anyone.

Sadly, GWS will never consider it. Also, Taranto would never choose us over other more promising VIC teams.
Would require more than pick 6

And if I remember that means JoeD has to depart to get a return 1st rounder acc to above
One might say I will drive Daniher to Sydney myself and risk breaching coronavirus restrictions if it means Taranto comes to us.

The only positive in the Saad situation is North’s interest. Should hopefully rule out the PSD option, and Carlton offering unders because he is contracted.

He isn't contracted

Going to be very interesting to see what direction we want to take the forward line if Joe is heading north.
It's been dysfunctional (even with him at times) for the last few years, so if the club really does think that they're 'contenders' they're going to have to find another KPF as well as work out a strategy that lets the group be successful.

Stewart - CHF
EDIT: Stringer - 3rd tall
Laverde - 4th tall/swapsies with Langford (Jones an option when ready)
Tippa - Small #1
Snelling/Cahill/Moz/Clarke - Small #2

Question is FF.
Joe goes, i imagine we look at Wright. We need a target rather than a gun. We've built a quality fwd line and it served us nothing without the midfield.

Get a cheap tall target in.
Focus on building the midfield depth.

Laverde Stewart Snelling
Tippa Wright Stringer

not the most elite fwd line in the comp, but if we get a balanced middle up and running, it should suffice.

Joe going at least means they can plan for a forwardline without Joe, seems we've been in a holding pattern for almost 3 years hoping he gets fit and not really building an alternative forward structure.

Stewart really working hard to be both CHF and 3rd Tall.

You make sure the midfield is so good it doesn’t matter.
