Wonder if we could do the following pick swaps:

Trade 1: 7 and 2021 3rd to Collingwood for 16 and 2021 1st and

Then

Trade 2: 6 and 8 for pick 2 and pick 30

Trade 3: 30 and 77 to Hawthorn for 45 and 46

Leaves
2 (Logan McDonald), 16 (O'Driscoll), 44, 45, 46 (NGA matches)

I read somewhere that McDonald and O'Driscoll are best mates and getting both would help with homesickness question surrounding McDonald (much like Brisbane did with McCluggage/Berry etc) with O'Driscoll being what we need as a big bodied mid in his own right.

For me, on all accounts, we've done poorly here. You either don't commit, or you get your man. We should've thought about all this beforehand.

I don't think it's good business.

I think you can probably contrast our outcome with Geelong and Cameron.

But hey, opinions are like bumholes and mine is just that.
Geelong got Cameron for a steal in my bumhole opinion

I was trying to find this and I couldn't, it looks like it has been edited or something?

Anyway here's a link for those wanting to confirm that it's legit..

Dunkley is still a chance. I’ve said it previously but his concern was lack of midfield time and now the Doggies have recruited another midfielder (at the very end of trade period giving Dunkley/Pickering no time to put pressure on the trade happening).

This gives us an option. But Dunkley and Pickering will need to put more pressure on this trade as well. Only so much we can do.

We'll need to AFL to bend their rules to even have the opportunity. 12 months is a long time in football (so is a week).

We gave them our best offer. If a 1st and 2nd rounder was good enough for Lachie Neale it’s good enough for Dunkley. The dogs can eat a bag.

If the reasoning is because the AFL did not provide enough clarity on list sizes and caps during this trade period, I can understand it.

Maybe not so much bending the rules, more providing a way for clubs to get themselves in line with the guidelines next year.

Doggies may not have enough points if someone bids on JUH for pick 1 or 2.

Per the Age, North have said they are open to trading pick 2 for multiple picks.

We trade up to pick 2, threaten to bid on JUH?

Nothing would be more satisfying right now than pulling off a big FU like that. Dogs wanna play the a-hole, that's cool, we have the draft hand to unleash and go in dry.

yeah ..a good summary there by dodo

they did pretty well with the trades with what was on offer and resisted the temptation to trade away next years first for Dunkley

bomber fans should be satisfied with our gets and the picks we have in hand

Wouldn’t mind trading 7 & 8 for pick 2 and a 2nd rounder if big Logan is still on the board.

I’m the opposite, I’d be putting the word out that one of them is up for grabs to the highest bidder.

I’d look for a future first and a pick in the top 20 odd in return. Really puts us in a strong position to continue to add talent in a sustained way next year too

¿por que no los dos?

I figured Essendon would probably bid on one of our latter guys (Raak/MacPherson) but this could work if you manage to get pick 2. Definitely a ballsy return of serve /
/ giant FU but I wonder how much additional leverage it will provide if Trade Week Part 2: Trade Day eventuates.

Anyway, been good reading the conversation here and the banter on the draft board - good luck with your draft haul!
Raak and Emac arent getting bid on and will be lucky to be rookied

According to Dodoro they asked for 8 and our future first...
As disappointed as I am not to get Josh, even happier we held firm. Geez that’s steep.

I can't help but feel we went a year too early on Dunkley. Very easy in hindsight. Reality is we will be rubbish next year anyway, trying to get a guy with 2 years to run on his contract was ultimately too hard to pull off without going all in and we could have focused on something else. Next year, we could go at him with only 1 year before RFA which puts more pressure on Dogs, probably free up cap space with likes of Hooker and Hepp and have a crack at some RFAs like Oliver.

Whilst it's disappointing that we missed out on Dunkley I think it's important to realise that we have a lot of cap space left. If we front end Caldwell's, Mcgrath's and a couple of other's deals we're in a good position to go after a big free agent next year plus we get the opportunity to go after a need that we didn't meet in this year's draft or next years draft(we should have a decent idea of who we're picking by trade period)

No chance. Thats crazy, especially seeing as how good next years draft is. Adrian offered 7 and a future second is more than enough and thats on the dogs if they don't want it. Good on hi for not caving now we are exceptionally set up for the draft and the years to come!
