It really is ridiculous. AFL should shutdown the trade period as soon as a day of no trades occurs. Would actually make them get a move on. Then again, maybe AFL wants it to take a lot of time so that people are talking about it and it's reported on in the media

If I was trying to ream Richmond, I'dve chucked TJ in there to us for a token pick or something...

Idk, if anything I think WC probs wins this deal, could probs chuck in a future 3rd from them back your way to square it up a bit more.

Honestly though, don't see it as that far off.

I'd say most non-Richmond pundits would say 6, especially in this draft, is overs for Rioli, and let's say Bakers worth Pick ~25, so you could look at it as 6 for Rioli + 25, don't think that's far off. Then its 20 for 32 + 45 + 51, which gives yas a 12 pick upgrade at the cost of 2 late picks which you'd still have 6 picks better than in this scenario (1, 6, 20, 24, 42, 43).

And naturally, Brisbane isn't going to slide down from 20 unless there's a net gain of points, otherwise that would defeat the purpose, so giving up a higher pick worth less points for 3 worse picks that combine for more is pretty stock standard. Semantics over exactly which, could be 32 + 45 + 51, could be 24 + 51, could be 42 + 43 + 45 + 60, whatever.

The trade period goes too long, hopefully shit starts to get lodged tomorrow so we can all dissect how our own teams have gotten ripped rather than my hypotheticals that'll likely be nowhere near the reality, although coming up with this did cure my bordeom at work.

The problem is it doesn't really help. You have to give the Grand Final Teams at least a week before it opens. So the actual trade period might be less but you would still have the same speculation and talk for the same amount of time.

Agree that richmond get reamed there. However, on the points part at the end, lions tigers trade just went through where lions give up 912 points but get back 1704 points

I don't mind Kane and Edmund in the morning. I feel like they have some good discussion and you get a summary of where things are at.

The problem is after that there just isn't enough news. I don't mind all the regular AFL journalists.

Cooney is the most useless guy on any form of radio and gets a gig because he has no other job and can afford to take some casual cheap shifts on a weekday.

Hanneberry is no good. He said he is still working morning and afternoons in his regular job so I think he is just poorly researched.

Jenkins I don't mind. He does more research than Cooney.
