So sorry to hear your Dad passed away Dave.
Footy comes a long way second to family.
I hope you are OK.
If you need I and I am sure a dozen or more members are just a PM away.

It Sure Does.

When something like that Happen's you can Forget about Footy Results.

Though I did watch the Game

So sorry for your loss Dave. Know that the Pies board is here for you.
:hearts:

Dave.

You and your dad were the first people i thought of when the siren went tonight after an all time win. Your passion for the pies and hearing your dads predictions has been a real highlight on these boards.

Please accept my condolences and look after yourself mate. We love you.

Thank You Very Much What is a cakewalk

Dave I am devestated for you. On the tram on the way home from the game and just read this. Footy means nothing compared to your Dad but glad you could be distracted for a few hours with a win. Always thought you sounded close and your Dad knew a lot about footy. I hope in the days ahead you can remember all the things you loved about him and give him a great send off. RiP. Thinking of you and the family. GC

Oh Dave, that’s just terrible news.
Lost my mum last Boxing Day and even though I knew it was coming it was still absolutely horrible.
Stay strong mate, and try and remember all the good times you and he shared. I’m sure there were many.

Just arrived home after the game to this. So sorry to hear of your terrible loss, Dave. I only know you through your many BF posts , but you've been unafraid to expose so much of your real self (unlike an occasional contributor like me) which I fully respect, so I feel empathy and sympathy for you and your family. I'm sure your family will support you through your grief - just as you will support them. Your true friends will also be there for you. While the pain of separation will never fully go away, it will abate with time. What never goes away is the memories of all the good times you had together.

Having very suddenly lost my own father (a life long devoted devoted Pies supporter amongst other things) at a young age, I know how devastating this can be - yet strangely, despite everything, I still remember his beloved Pies surprisingly defeating West Coast in Perth on the afternoon my own father died and me actually thinking how he still would've enjoyed the game. At the 'G today, when we beat those blues again, I punched my fist up to the sky and silently said - "we got 'em again, Dad".

So stay strong Dave through the difficult days ahead - for both yourself and your family. And have faith - it will get better with time.
