Re: Training Jan 15th

Not all great news today.

First up David Myers left the track late in the session with what looked like a hammy injury. Not 100% sure it was a hammy but certainly left the ground with a limp after speaking with the physio. I did notice he wasnt stretching out all that well just before he went off.

Gumby also had a minor hicup. About half way through he went off after seeing the physio but he came back out 10 minutes later and joined in the handball group before finishing off training in the last drill. Looked like he may have just had a minor tweek in the back which can happen for a good 8 or 9 months after the operation.

Winderlich was running laps. Had a compression bandage on the upper left leg so the probability is some hammy or quad tightness. No need to worry too much as he was out there running half pace and then went to the pool so it is not a soft tissue tear.

T Slattery and Laycock where running laps.

Neagle and Hille in the main group.

Daniher modified. Hooker pool.

Could not say 100% that everyone was there and the players have their own programs now so a few are not on the same work load as others.

Fletcher did full training as did Hurley so a hint to chanel 10 , maybe try reporting the facts from a direct source next time ;)

Everyone in the main group looked to be ticking over ok. Not much else to say.
I think you mean walking :D

That is what it looked like to me with his running action just before he spoke to the physio.

i ended up going to training in the end. It looked to me like myers hurt his thigh more than hammy cause of where he was pointing with the physio.

You can not always trust what you see. The players are actually told not to point to any injury area or to point to a different spot rather than where the injury is. Of course they don't always remember that which makes it tricky.

When he was running it certainly looked like a hammy.

Wet , cold and windy.
Modified
Myers walking laps compression bandage on upper left leg. No official confirmation on the injury but i believe it is a hammy.

Laycock - light running and pool.

Daniher - plenty of 200 meter run throughs and some kicking. Still not moving 100% but looking better.

Everyone else was back with the main group but their where a few that did not do a full training. Lonergan pulled out early and it looked like a minor back twinge the way he was moving. has had a history of back spasm's.

Neagle went off about half way through but came back out and did most of the remaining training before going in about 20 minutes early.

T Slattery did about 60% of normal training this week.

Gumby fine.

Hooker back on the track for full training.

Hille did full training and was involved in all the contact and competing drills.

The ball handling and skills where not as crisp as they have been , the boys looked to be struggling a bit with the wet conditions. Not a lot else to say as like most training runs it was done at good pace and 90% of the list are training well and looking good.

Re: Training 18/01/2010

Hi, thanks for the report. I live in the country and have a few things i need confirmation on.

1. Hurley did just "jar" his wrist last week and is travelling well?

2. Heard a report last week that Neagle was having groin trouble again, is he training ok?

3. Reimdog and Winda are part of the full training atm?

Thanks

Just a tip. If a player is not mentioned then it is 99% likely he is training ok with no problem.:)
Sorry to be a bit blunt but it is hard to comment on 40 odd players when 30 to 35 of them are doing the same thing and progressing well. When we do the reports we tend to mention the ones with issues otherwise it is training as per normal.

As reported in the last two training reports Hurley is ok.

Neagle i mentioned above , he was on and off the track today but it is anyones guess as to why as he looked ok.

Reimers has been in full training since we have returned and Winderlich trained ok today after he was restricted to running laps on friday.

Re: Training 18/01/2010

Heard a rumour about a week ago that Micheal Still has a bit of sore shoulder. Can anyone tell me if he's traning as per the norm or if he's on a modified program.

Re: Training 18/01/2010

Is Laycock showing any signs of returning to training? He's been doing modified stuff for ages now.

Trained in the main group, actually thought he looked pretty good compared some others in the skill department. As ant said skills were down today due to the conditions.
