the mega deal man
A few reds & a good rant is good for the soul.Too hard to read between the lines OA......do you rate him or not?
EFAOr as the French say: Surrender!!
Agree totally. Can't believe he wasn't delisted. His height is the only thing that saved him IMO, because we are a bit light in the taller end of our list. But then again, if we get Finlayson...
Keeping gault on the rookie list for another season is a no brainer. Personally I like his mobility and obviously his height. Was injured in his first year so last season was basically his first. Tons of upside to retain him, and no downside.
I think it's actually Adama TraoreIf I see a single grammar or spelling mistake on the Welcome to Collingwood - Adam Treloar thread I'll go bonkers. We've had how many months to get it right now?

It's a good thing he has mobility and height because he can't play football for shit!
I'm prepared to wait another season before writing him off. Costs bugger alll to retain as a rookie, talls need time

I would like this twice if I could. I don't think it is possible for Robbo to make himself look any more ridiculous than he has today. Such righteous anger from him over nothing, driven solely by hatred for Collingwood.
It seems everyone has been out to **** us this trade period, clubs and media alike, yet we held our nerve and kept our cool despite everyone beating their chest and refusing to deal with us, ringing the AFL to complain that a player didn't choose them, writing articles about our integrity etc., etc., Hell, even Melbourne tried to play hardball with us by insisting Kennedy couldn't be used in a Howe trade.
Despite overwhelming hostility from all angles we decided on our targets months out and went out and got them. Hine, Balme and co. have earnt themselves a beer or two when these deals go through.
And while I'm at it, it shits me how everyone falls over themselves to give Hawthorn such praise for their ability to get trades done quickly, even our own fans have been doing it ( "Hawthorn would have had it done by now")
When you only have pick 17-19 as your best pick the last few years and you have one target in mind, like a McEvoy or O'Rourke etc, then of course it's easy to do a deal. If they had pick 7 would they have just thrown it at St Kilda for McEvoy on the first day of trade week? Of course not. If they had pick 3 would be they so eager to put an offer in for Carlisle? I'm guessing they would sit on it for a bit and see if there was another way. They are no better at sealing deals than anyone else, especially considering they don't have the entire league trying to thwart them at every turn.
Dafuq? Gault was drafted in 2011. He's been spudding it up for four years now. Needs to be delisted ASAP if we get Finlayson or someone like McKay in the draft.Keeping gault on the rookie list for another season is a no brainer. Guy Richards should just be about cherry ripe now then.I'm prepared to wait another season before writing him off. Costs bugger alll to retain as a rookie, talls need time
It's certainly a lot to give up... but hey - Treloar is a guaranteed gun. Already played 70 odd games as a 22 year old and has been playing against men since he was like 16.
He'll be a 300 game player at our club. We can't say that about Freeman, and we couldn't even say that is a certainty with Scharenberg. I think we do the deal. If we need to, we trade to get in to the top 10 next year. Our club has had the most 1st round picks of any club in the last 3 years I think (I read that somewhere)... so we can have a year or 2 without getting a top 10. Plus, if we're getting Treloar AND Aish in, that's virtually 2 top 5 picks who just so happen to be ready made players. Add that to Crisp and De Goey last year... We have the best young ruckmen in the league, and Taylor Adams whose a jet. Steele is only 24, too.
I think its worth the sacrifice.

Stating the obvious: winning established top end talent helps retain and attract other top end talent. To put it more bluntly we need more top end talent and less role players. You do the deal on the guarantee of getting quality.
Guy Richards, David Fanning, Steve McKee, Cameron Wood, Chris Bryan. Man we've had some quality ruckmen.David fanning?
Really? Pace of Ben Sinclair? I haven't seen that yet but by gosh I hope you're right!
