Re: Tengove holds off contract talks...

I think this year has shown what a someone with the ability to pinch ruck like Roughy can do for the team. It has lifted us to another level, now I reckon Trengove can do the same. His very althletic for his size and this would give us another option aside from Roughy.

Re: Tengove holds off contract talks...

What do Richmond have to offer Port though?
First Rounder is a given but Port would want more and I just dont see what Richmond have that Port would want.

Exactly. Richmond have got nothing Port want. Well, actually they've got players Port would want but none they'd be prepared to part with.

I'm comfortable that Trengove will stay. If he doesn't, I reckon the lucky club will have to pay above market value. Trengove still talks of the fact he owes Port for picking him when other clubs wouldn't touch him because of his injury. Funny, really, how they want him now. Something, if I we're at Port, I'd be none too shy in reminding him:D. Trengove doesn't seem like the selfish, fat rooster that held us over a barrell and ended up at Carltank.

With other young Vics like Boak and Gray re-signing, I hope Trengove follows their lead. We shall see.:thumbsu:

Re: Tengove holds off contract talks...

Yeah looks like a handy young player.

If we could get him I would be behind it but by the sounds of it I would reckon he should stay at Port, the club that showed him faith and picked him up early.

I prefer that to jumping ship for selfish gain. Wouldn't want it at Hawthorn with some of our players so should expect the same elsewhere in the comp.

Re: Tengove holds off contract talks...

Who is this Tengove person? Last night he was Trengrove, now Tengove. I'm confused!!!:D

Agreed.

With Port's form, who is to say that he won't lose a few more letters by season's end & become a "Tenoe"; or perhaps worse, "Treno"...

Far too risky. We want Trengrove - with the "R" - or no deal...

You realise a trade doesn't need to happen for him to go there, yes?

well i guess if no other victorian team wants to put up a fair trade, and he doesnt want to stay, and gws doesnt want a chb, gc doesnt want a chb, we dont want a chb, adelaide doesnt want a chb, western bulldogs dont want a chb, melbourne dont want a chb then yeah sure he could land there with out a trade.

If we are to trade for trengrove, then we need to give them EQUAL compensation. Something they need but we can cover with our list. This is more possible now that Pelchen has left. A lot of clubs didn't like dealing with him

Carlton have crapped on the salary cap rules, r*ped you with Stevens, and did a nice number on WCE (though they thought Kennedy wasn't showing enough at the time to really impact- ha ha.). Then they want two first rounders (or a first and second round pick?) for Thornton. FFs keep him.

I think draft picks in the top 5 are valuable. After that, they are hit and miss. A pick 20 can often end up better than a pick 8. Depends on how much homework is done, including the stuff between the kid's ears.

I would like to see us being fair. A win win is often possible.

The knocks on Jackson Trengove at the time (from memory) were his kicking and the fact he was returning from having torn his hamstring off the bone.

OUT-OF-CONTRACT Port Adelaide key defenders Jackson Trengove and Alipate Carlile are being pursued by Hawthorn in a bid by the Hawks to bolster their depleted back line.

Has anyone pointed out the the ass-clown that wrote the article, that unless you can draft the players in now, its next to useless since Stratton will be right for the start of 2012.
