Its generally accepted that they let inglis slip past the rules because at the time NSW were so dominant.

Of course they didnt forecast that a - queensland produces a shitload of their own great players (ie lockyer, price, petro hodges thurston)
b- andrew johns would retire, amongst a whole host of talent we have lost over the last few years

So really a shite decision.

I dont really want the traitorous merkin playing for my state, but it really is a farce.

Why are you so down on Inglis?
There were 12 other Queenslanders on the field, and Inglis was off after 20 minutes. You still couldn't beat Queensland, who had to play the last 60 minutes without him

I just think he's a bit of a **** for 'choosing' Qld despite being a New South Welshman.
Mind you Qld have always bent the rules to suit them, eg Thorn, Carrol, campaigner (all new zealanders) and Adrian Lam (Papua New Guinean) etc. I wouldnt be surprised if they claimed this new Saffer coming over here.


It's actually pretty funny. You here all this shite about the famous Queensland Spirit always helping them? This season they were overwhelming favourites, losing would've been a MASSIVE choke. And despite this spirit they still choose whoever they want, despite some having pretty much no claims to being a Queenslander at all. NSW choose new south welshman, always have. Sure we currently are seriously lacking in talented players, shit happens, they are still sky blues playing for the sky blues.


Although at the end of the day Origin only works because of the inferiority complex bred into the Queenslanders. They hate NSW, they cant stand us. Its pretty funny, because while they hate us, we nothing them (much like Victoria), we know we have consistently been the number one state, we spawned the national rugby league competition, the original and the best. We also know that the quality of a state isnt measured on the outcome of a rugby league series, something they will never understand.

I mean what is more pathetic in this day and age than a state advertising its 150th anniversery as 'celebrating the day we broke away from NSW.'

It's because they have a much much better side than us. They have the Australian 1-10 in their side.

I have never denied Qld currently having a better side than NSW. Even if Inglis played for his actual state we'd still get romped, it's incredible how they have managed to produce this generation of exceptional players (mind you, some of the NSW sides from 1990 - 2005 were supurb).
