I did when I was little. Think its pretty stupid now, but all I was thinking about was lollies ;)

In the words of Jerry Seinfeld, "Get candy get candy get candy get candy get candy" :D

I've never done it and have never had anyone come to my door for it. I guess it's kinda hard where I live. Our class has a Canadian exchange student at the moment, and she was pretty disappointed that we didn't do Halloween! So she took her boyfriend round all the houses in town to get lollies :D Must have looked weird, since no-one here does it...:D

Shove a Big Mac down their throat and hope they choke on it. Set fire to their Nikes and make them run. Put their Britney CDs in the microwave. Puncture their basketballs.

Or I like Bee's suggestion with the hose, except I'd go one better and say "here's a treat for ya!" and whack em over the head with a piece of hose. Now that's a night of evil doings we can all enjoy!

we are usually prepared and don't get any. This year we weren't prepared and had 20!!!

The kids came in groups of 6. Mum had several come in groups of 2, which I doubt I would let my kid do.

I felt sorry for our son as he is only 4 and has chicken pox. He could hear all the kids outside and was lying in his bed sobbing :( he didn't want lollies, he wanted to see the kids!

I've never liked the tradition and have always believed it to be an American one, but it does seem to be getting taken on in our area. We don't want our son to go trick or treating (way too dangerous) so we are thinking we might host a little party at home next year.

I do like the idea with the flags!!!! :D

Love the idea of the flags Danni - should try it next year

I don't like Halloween, not our tradition and un-Australian. If I was a parent there's no way I'd let my kids go out to strangers houses and ask for food.

This year we had 2 fat lasses come to the front door and were soon told the way back down the garden path. I saw them go into 2 other neighbours houses and came back empty handed.

The thing I hate the most is that they are inconsiderate. You never see these kids before, and they expect you to give them something for nothing. There is an old lady who is 89 and lives a few houses down the street, she got home from hospital after having a hip replacement operation. The last thing senior citizens need are stupid kids trespassing on their property and knocking on their doors.

The danger factor is high too. A friend who lives in America told me that there have been cases where kids have been given poisoned candy and apples with razor blades in them. Also people throw flour/powder into peoples faces screaming "ANTHRAX!"

*rant over*
