No guarantees we would have won. Sliding doors is a dangerous game because the door closes in different ways. If Hartigan played who is to say he would not have been cruelly injured or whatever.

We don't know. I definitely think we would have had a better chance of winning. I also think if the Crows actually had turned up we would have won even with VB.

Just saying.

McGovern, Betts, lynch, seedsman, Atkins, etc can all be rested for a game. Keep them fresh.

Sure, but why? Just to be able to play them? Best available squad always is my philosophy. If someone needs a rest is different to a scheduled rest....and scheduled rests can play with momentum. I am not a fan personally.

Don't think thommo benefited from the week off...

It's a long & taxing season & we will perform better keeping the players fresh.

I'm hoping long-ish term that Cameron and Milera become wingmen/high half forwards and create another space for Menzel closer to goal

We turned up. We had the game in control. If our players had handled the physicality that North put on us in the third better then we would have won. Instead we lost our shit, and fell away from the contested ball.

That game was one that left me with significant doubts about whether we can really match it with the big boys in September, but perhaps a few of our bigger wins this year has given us the mentality required. Time will tell.

It was round one, we have well and truly put any doubts from that game to bed since then.

Can anyone imagine next year with Hampton, Menzel, Milera & Brad Crouch in our line up?

If we're fully fit we'll have players like Menzel, Hampton Milera on the bench. That's a pretty devastating bench line up for starters.

What are you talking about? Of course you can change a winning team by choice. If you've got a player who will provide more than the bloke you're carrying then the team is better off. We've dhanged winning teams this year, as have other clubs. What you're suggesting is utter rubbish.

Yeah, he needs a rest though. He wasn't rested just for the sake of it. He is old.

That is not what I meant. What you state is correct, but I was referring to planned rotations. Best 22 always, and I don't have issues swapping players out based on that.[/B]

This is pretty much Cameron and Mileras role already though. I think Menzel will be competing with this role and instead Milera will end up being a pure wingman unless he adds to his frame and becomes a wells like stoppage player.

They've been almost permanent half forwards with Charlie having the odd run off the back of the square.

He is too skillful not to play. He needs to get his fitness/body right and then push his way in.( I have a good feeling about him. ;))
