Steve Johnson was literally buggered!
So much so, he only had one chance at convincing Scott prior to them making the tough call and he used ice packs in order to keep the swelling down...it worked and the rest is history but was a massive risk on his part and quite a good acting performance by Stevie J

Menzel was initially going to fall to us at pick 16. Then he was a top 3 pick with injury concerns. Then he was going to the Dogs at pick 5/6. Now they say Bulldogs will opt for Stringer over Menzel and he will drop to pick 11.

Then Stringer was going to be a top 3/4 pick then slid to fall to us - now he is a top 5/6 pick ?

Grundy was a top 3/4 pick and now apparently he will fall to us at pick 16 !

I hope these youngsters don't follow their possible selections too closely - their confidence could be shot before they even get picked !

Would be a nightmare if you were a draftee poor guys on the plus side they have many good years ahead to make up for it lol

That would be the steal of the decade.....surely cant happen.

I will have a hand in my grundies if it does!
 
It's obvious where the talent is, and with pick16, depending on the quirky nature of the pecking order before us, we may get a lucky shot at someone that could've or should've gone inside top 10.

Will be interesting tonight.
 
Still hasn't gone after pick 10 and stringer was taken by the dogs instead.
Surely we couldn't be lucky enough....

until the $200K that carlton had to find in the salary cap to fulfill judd's dodgy deal becomes $200K they can't pay trenzel and we trade him for a spud and a second rounder
 
Amusing moment on SEN just now with Anthony Hudson, Cats supporter, interviewing Shane Rogers from Carlton about their picks.

Hudson said of Menzel: "I thought he should have gone to Geelong with the brother-brother rule - but we haven't got that one across the line just yet"

They also discussed the idea of putting him in for a pre-emptive LARS, but Rogers said they wouldn't do that to a kid.

glad to know im not the only one swearing unholy things when i heard his name called out to carlton

could have just imagined the arrogant interview he had with mick and carlton before the draft

menzel " i dont want to go to carlton i want to play with my brother at the cats" mick" too bad kid if your availabe carlton is taking you whether u like it or not end of interview!"
 
Was never going to make it to us.. GWS or Norf probably would have got him if Carlton didn't .. Wells didn't even say he was our no.1 choice...
