Maybe they can change the Giants icon while they're at it. Still rolling with the off-centre G on the Fox Footy draft coverage despite not having worn that guernsey since 2020
I'm pretty sure The Age still thinks West Coast wears the tri-panel. Some media can be oddly slow with these updates.

I quite like the score showing prominently in the top left-hand corner. Essential info up top, batters/bowlers down below, various match info/stats at the bottom.
I had a crack at putting something simple together. Spacing could be better to avoid crowding but I could see something along these lines working.

As someone who watched day one at the local club on Fox Cricket - more graphics need to be top heavy like this. Helps you actually be able to see the crucial stuff when there's people in front of you.

Swapped between Fox & 7 and realised that they both use different player names.

Fox has Reddy & Kohli while 7 has Nitish & Kohli. So for some players 7 has first name & for others it’s their last name.

Fox did have ‘Washington’ for Washington Sundar so even they are using a mixture but the 2 networks are not consistent

You can add to that the names on the back of the player shirts plus the names on the scoreboard at the ground and there is no consistency between any of them…

Also, in the first innings, on Fox it was "Kumar Reddy". In the second innings it was "Reddy"

Fox adding a graphic that perfectly matches 7's every time there's content not relevant to Fox Cricket is a nice touch. Surely it can't be that hard to just use their own graphics package like they do for all men's matches?

It’s a women’s match I do t know why they waste their time with the commentary. Just stream the 7 coverage

Yeah, it seems odd investing in a commentary team but not doing graphics. Surely do both or do neither.
Most pro-level broadcasts use many different audio feeds - one of the most common is an international or "world" feed without commentary but everything else. That's what Fox will be receiving from Seven. Audio is cheap data-wise and you can fit a ton of audio into any form of stream without adding too much overhead.

With video, unless the money is there, generally you'd take the finished feed but use the "world" audio. Video is very high datarate, especially at broadcast level - it's much harder to transmit multiple feeds but what would "normally" happen is that you'd route the "clean" feed (pre-graphics) to multiple broadcasters using each's dedicated links (fiber or satellite) from the ground, then each broadcaster would use their own trucks or production hubs to generate their own graphics and mix them locally.

You generally mix things like cameras, replays, video packages and stuff on the lowest "layer" or "bus", then on top of that you may have transition bumpers and all that above, then the graphics package. Depending on where you "tap" into the feed, you would then add things like the channel logo above that at the station end.

If you notice on this game, when they cut to the commentary box they also lose the graphics - this is because they're mixing "over" the feed and graphics, not mixing "under" with the graphics on its own bus. I would think Fox are happy taking the Seven video mix to save cost, rather than having to send an uplink truck or anything out to the ground.

That's how you can have a Premier League game on Sky with their own GFX, then the international feed that Optus get with the "world" GFX, then the NBC will have their own version as well. All will have different commentators too since that's really easy to add in remotely these days and the "world" feed is a standard feed delivered to broadcasters.

For the WBBL finals, Fox had their own commentary with their graphics. But for the other games they took the 7 broadcast.

with the NZ WT20 & now IND WODI, Fox have their own commentary but using 7 graphics.

I don’t think that’s Fox adding it but the graphics provided by 7 to Fox. 7 & the world feed got the additional info.

But I feel for the women’s ashes, Fox will have their own graphics and commentary (they did that during the last Women’s Ashes in Aus) and maybe even at the ground (definitely the Test at the MCG)

Yeah for the ashes is understandable. Wouldn’t waste it with other countries

It's definitely an overlay done by Fox. There was a few times where the 7 one underneath wasn't covered momentarily, and the graphic extends further across the screen than 7's and uses Fox's typeface. It was generally showing the names of the Fox commentators, so why would 7 be responsible for that?

Ive just put cricket on 7 right now for first time all day. How come i cant see what india scored? Surely it can be on their side of scorebug or something
They should get rid of “Innings 1ST” and have the Indian score. But they do have ‘Australia trail by ___” in the bottom tan colour area but that’s not all the time as they cycle through with other info like run rate, partnership & crowd attendance.

Fox also doesn’t show the Indian score but they have the “Australia trails by ___” about 80% of the time

Watching Star Sports India's day 2 preview, they're using Nark Nicolas and Matty Hayden at the ground, and some guy out of a studio - superimposed to make it look like he's at the ground - but quite badly
