Getting booted from two previous clubs due to putting himself in situations like this in the past though must raise a few red flags.
Perhaps if you don't have any faith in your club's systems and processes.

We don't know the facts - it may not have been his doing, outside of being at a nightclub at 2am.

People can't afford to give away drugs in this economy
Correct. Given Geelong's sway with officials in general this might actually be an opportunity for a national reduction in alcohol tax

This is your chance to use your elite manipulation of officials for good Geelong - start coaching C Scott

Yeah I'm sure they want to moderate comments from every yahoo from Newcastle to Monkey Mia giving their thoughts on a young indigenous kid getting into a spot of bother.

He seems to get in a spot of bother a lot?

Seven reported Stengle was carried out of a Geelong nightclub around 2:30am, just hours after returning from Tasmania where he kicked three goals in the Cats’ win over North Melbourne.

The 25-year-old was unresponsive at the time and was in a “serious condition”, but has recovered following the incident and ran light laps at Cats training on Monday.

Drink could have gotten spiked?
That's the suggestion, makes sense. Not ideal to be out but he's not Robinson Crusoe even in Geelong's history. Like the team against the Dogs 2 weeks ago, he deserves a mulligan here. And probably just a reminder that not a lot of good happens in the early hours of a morning.

I'd probably have to go to hospital if I was drinking out of a cup this big

He seems to have recovered. Was training well today and will be playing the Crows next week.

That's if in season night club drinking is allowed
