naa man his skill is very high the bloke doesnt have an opposite foot
and his fittness is at a very high level,

if he was taller and stronger he would one of the best in victoria :p
lol

honestly hes good but not great, good enough to be marked but not
good enough to dominate week in week out in u18ns his simply to small

mate, you'll find most decent blokes can kick both feet

and one of the best in victoria is just utter b.s

can't blame height for not dominating

boomer harvey, ablett, foley

all under 6 ft

if shorta's so good, why isn't he with them in the afl?

let's be honest

till your playing senior footy it's purely developmental

"why not try and shut down the oppositions most damaging player?"
because it completely takes one of your players out of the game. most teams in the comp are light on depth in the first place

and there isn't anyone good in this comp good enough to be tagged weekly atm

especially shorta who is liable going the other way

their isn't even "tagging" in TAC cup.

Firstly I don't believe Under 18's to be "purely developmental" because it is a fairly high standard and kids who have moved on to play WRFL seniors say that it is of a higher standard than Reserves.
In reference to it taking out one of your players out of the game, I disagree. The good taggers can still get the ball going the other way. Take David Barnaby for example, for anyone who doesn't know he played for Altona last year and tagged every week and took the oppositions best player out of the game regulary and still got the ball going the other way and would have been named in their best in over 10 games last year and would have finished top 5 in their bnf.
Sheep hasn't been an attacking weapon for us this year so why not give him a task? He did it extremely well and would have had as many touches as Mead did on the weekend.
I also didn't say he should be tagged weekly, I just stated that the tag occurred last weekend worked.

you have misinterpreted hugely mate.

i was making the point that height is not required to dominate as shown by those blokes

you said that if shorta was taller he'd be one of the best in the state. you don't need to be tall to be a gun. which is what i was pointing out

it had nothing to do with the afl or wrfl.

so just easy on the stupidest thing on this forum

considering there has been some monster size shit said by some blokes on this thread

purely isnt the right word

maybe an emphasise on

last year was a different kettle of fish.

barnaby would be the comp's best player this year.

blokes should be tagged on the standard they are at rather than if they're a teams best player

pt melbourne's best player isn't tagged every week

"their isn't even "tagging" in TAC cup."

There isn't tagging in the TAC cup because the cups purpose is to show the best players, and tagging would not allow that.
The WRFL's purpose is for the best team to win.
Tagging is nessecary for the best team to win, if a player is dominating with no sign of slowing down, the opposing team needs to able to shut that player down. Why would a team let that player keep on getting the ball, when they have the opportunity to 'tag' and shut that player down.
Barnaby is the perfect example, he shut players down and came 3rd in Altona best and fairest.
Everyteam needs a good tagger to shut players that are dominating down.

How is it soft?
Tagging is a part of football whether you like it or not and it was always going to come into under 18's football. Why not try and shut down the oppositions most damaging player? If you can limit their output on a game surely it is worth while.
And that is what happened on the weekend, Spotswood through the tag on Mead limited his output on the game.
i think mead's got tickets on himself.. every1 knows that thy dukes is him

Didn't do much against Altona, when willi lost by 43 points...?
Shorty is an average player, he defitnaly does not have the abilitys to "tear teams" apart.
Half the wrfl want to wack Shorty because he is a w***er, who thinks he can "tear teams" apart!

The way williamstown has been going in the past two weeks, Port Colts may be looking to score their second win of the season.
LMAOOOOOOOOO i love this bangels bloke.. i couldnt agree more with you!!

i'd dispute that every team needs a good tagger but with the barnaby example he needed to tag because the caliber of players was so much better than it was this year.

i'd say this comp is in trouble if blokes like shorta are getting tagged.

but it is what it is.

breaking news boys
richie richardson has been arrested for abducting 4 werribee players
and anally probing them to see why they are so good
spotswood president chris murphy is being questioned on the
"scientific experiment" in question.
it is believed that spotswood coaches have been doing this for years
tony walshe is believed to have abducted jordan mead last year
and apparently mead didn't want to leave the experiment
i wonder who will step in as coach for the rest of the year?
because richie is facing about 10-15 years

who ever said wrfl is a good standard must be a ******* the wrfl standard of football is terrible, also taggers are definetly not a nessacary thing if youve got someone who can match it or shut down a teams best player why would you use them to attack, and shorty is definetly not thy dukes and shorty would definetly be at least top 10 players in the comp that not including the likes of jets players like shibechi , also saying someones grammar in big footy is bad please you must be gay

Nah he was tagged.
Sheepy tagged him on the weekend and did a very good job, got in his head. Which mind you isn't that hard to do.
We needed to tag him because he tore us apart the first time we played Willy.
Sheepy's job on Mead was one of the reasons Spotty got very close to winning on the weekend.

Sheepy didn't tag, he sniped.

Goin' out there and doing what Sheepy did wasn't in the spirit of the game. He went out there and tried to get into Shorty's head, not by taking him out of contests, which Shorty could cop, but by going out there and working him up behind the play. Shorty copped it well and still played a good game.

yes he did cop it , as a spectator of the match, when shorta rested at full forward the ball didnt go down there, in the first half he was down the forward line abit one out . in the second half sheepy didnt have his measure with shorta getting alot of the ball out of the wings and in close. im pretty intrigued to see rnd 2 next time they meet .

ummm.. im pretty sure thats what a tagger does mate.. its clearly what every tagger does.... ******

cameron browne played werribee A's when i played them, didnt do much I was told he was quite ill.Deserves to play A's is deffently in werribees best 22. If i can remeber was one of the positives comeing out of last year 16A's grandfinal along with travis dean.

shorty deffently one of the leagues best players.williamstown just had anf off game, spotty are deffently not up 2 the pace of the top 5 in the 18A's wrfl compettion.williomstown are a threat to take it away this year a muuch better side all round without the like of macca conway and cassly

there is absolutely no way willi are a better side without macca, conway and casley. your talkin bout 3 of the top 5 best players at their age , and you rekon willi are better without them?
