There are plenty!

But it's too early to tell on all but a few absolute guns (Brock McLean, Kane Tenace, Ryley Dunn etc)

I saw Calder thrash Tassie on Sunday and they had some pretty impressive players, Betts and Sleight kicked 9 between them. I liked Silverter, Jolley and Hartigan as well.

Eastern were disappointing but Weinert looked the goods, and Darren Mizzi from Dandenong looks a very good player.

But one game is just that, need to see what happens during the year and at the nationals before even making an educated guess.

I'm the age group above the current under 18 players.

I know Mick Potter is playing for the NSW/ACT Rams and I played against him a few years ago, and he's pretty good. Heard a story about him that he was stabbed when he was about 14. Not if its true, but its quite inspirational if it was.

Dont know who else is in the Rams team.

HAHAHA. I didn't even notice that. First time I read it, it sounded like you found his stabbing inspiring.
:D :D

The standard has been pretty high in the last few years so hopefully it stays up there in 2003.

On the weekend I thought Adam Morrow from Western showed qualities that would attract attention - such as pin point passes out of the backline, the time to choose the right option under pressure and an ability to move well through traffic. But he might do nothing next week so I guess GOALden Hawk is right when he says it's a bit early to make big calls on 'lesser known' players.

I think the #1 pick might come from outside of the TAC Cup though - Raphael Clarke from the NT.

... If not Adam Cooney of West Adelaide.

or Josh Willoughby from Glenelg if he's eligible.

My best mates little brother, Andy Foster (he is 17) is in the Stingrays squad. Unfortuntely, he got suspended for 10 weeks at the end of last year. He is a gun.

He was was watching his mate play a local game, and his mate was king hit (if I remember correctly). So after the match he walked over to the guy that hit him and broke the guys jaw (it doesn't help that he is an amatuer boxer). So, while he is in the squad, he won't be playing until about round 10.

Don't know if that is really relevant to the thread, but I thought I would say it anyway.

Morrison didn't play for the Mariners on Sunday, perhaps he was playing VFL? Brennan Savage was listed in the best.

I'd also add Kepler Bradley and Matthew Moody from WA to the real guns at this stage.

Morrison is on his way to Ireland.

Kepler Bradley is a so/so proposition. very awkward like ex bomber Michael Symons but has good size about him and knows how to get it at least. Agree on Moody.

Moody is a top 5 certainty, my tip to go number 1
