One of the unique features of keeper leagues is the ability to trade players for draft picks, whether that be at the end of the season or during the end of season draft itself. I'm all for it.

Yep. The idea is that it's very similar to a real AFL season, you trade picks, rebuilt your list, etc. It's quite fun.
 
I have a question to ask. Will our drafting positions change next year according to where we finished - ie I think I was around fourth last year, so would I be fourth last in the draft instead of 9th again?

Where you finished will be your draft position, just like the actual AFL, ie 4th last means you have 4th pick. It also won't be a serpentine, rather a fixed draft, so you'll have the 4th pick every round.

Also, a bit like American sports and unlike the AFL, you're allowed to trade picks/players throughout the season, so you could theoretically draft your first round pick of next year, immediately after the draft for a player.
 
So unlike our present draft, you get rewarded the higher you finish, the higher you are placed in the draft. I like the idea of being able to recruit straight away at the end of the season if you want.

I said 4th last gets 4th pick, sorry if I didn't make that clear! It is reverse ladder order after the end of the season.

Sorry about that, folks.

Since joining this competition, my commitments have changed. I knew I would be living away from home from Monday to Friday for work reasons sometime in the not too distant future, but I didn't realise it would be so quickly. It means the only Internet browsing I do on weekdays is very limited on my phone. I'm still keen to play. I spent ten minutes the other night doing a preference list of about ten players. I'll make sure I have another preference list made by the time I leave tomorrow night.
