threenewpadlocks - I know it adds more work for you, but are we able to have a sort of 'Trading Block' in the OP? It works really well in fantasy basketball (but it's pre-coded into the site for that). Basically, each person lists the players that are available for trade, and what positions/stats they're looking for more coverage in. It just saves some of the tête-à-tête of trade negotiations when you have some idea of what the person is willing to trade and what they're looking for in return. No worries if it's too hard, just an idea.

I'd go

B: Sutcliffe Schoenmakers Johannisen
HB: Birchall Roberton Broadbent
C: Cunnington Watson Masten
CHF: Grey Jenkins Crameri
FF: Adams Cameron Lewis Jetta
Foll: Leuenberger Mundy Dangerfield
Int: Atley Conca Wellingham
SUB: Ben Kennedy
Emg: Moore Morabito Tutt

I remember last year there was a Trading Block tab on the Ultimate Footy website. It has exactly that where you can list the players up for trade and what positions you require.

Really? I didn't see it last year. I'll have a search for it later tonight and see if I can find it. Thanks for the heads up. :thumbsu:

Have put up a reasonably extensive trading block. I'm actually pretty happy with my side but am still open to some trades, and there's no point in saying that 20 players are locks and I won't consider trading them for anything. Realistically I'll look at any offer.

What positions are you after?

So what you are trying to tell us Dannnnnnnnnn is that you put next to no thought into your selrctions and you are now lumped with a shitload of average midlfielders that you want to offload...hmmm :p
Haha nah I'm pretty happy with my side. Midfield is loaded but that's not a big issue as I have more than ample depth around the ground. Can never start improving your side too early though. :)

Plus, I've been in a few leagues before where trades are a rarity and people would rather hang on to their players for years and years rather than actively seek to improve. No fun that way.

I'll be more than happy to trade during the year, I'd just like to play the first round and see what its all about and how the scores work etc before I jump off the trading cliff
Yeah that's fair enough. I played UF last season so I've got a good idea of where my team is strong and where it isn't and what I expect of the season. It's unlikely I'll make any trades before a few rounds in, but it can't hurt to throw some potential trading block players out there and see what comes of it.

I have a strict youth policy, with an average age of around 20.7
Not a bad thing, you'll tear it up in a few years if you got a majority of the calls right. I've gone a bit of a mid-term strategy with a lot of guys that can play good footy now but will only get better with time.

Looking at the team lists there are so many different strategies. Going to be interesting to see how the lists develop over time.

I see a few that are about to go into a massive rebuilding stage, it will be interesting to see the strategies develop. Being the last to sign up to this league and having chosen not to join this board's league last season I am interested to see who the experienced players are.

My strategy was no one over 26, but I relented on a couple of guns while some of the younger players develop. I can always recruit some good ones to replace them anyway. I took a big gamble and picked up a couple that haven't played yet, just on reputation alone. Will see if it pays off.

I have never played before so no idea what to expect really. I am already regretting a few picks and I am going to need some quick development in a few players. Definitely looking foward to seeing how it all unfolds though.
