The Adelaide and Pt Adelaide ones make sense. They’re total goals for are well beyond the cohort around them - which to me suggests that defenders get antsy because of their scoring power. Not sure of the rationale for the others.
Defenders seem pretty antsy around the two best contested marks in the game Curnow and McKay. The Dogs rotate 4 or 5 genuine aerial threats forward of centre every other week. As do Port. Hard to defend against.
Bottom few clubs, Richmond, Hawthorn, Melbourne, Collingwood, run smaller forward lines and rely less on bombing the ball to a marking contest, which would result in less free kicks. The numbers reflect what's going on and not some conspiracy.
