Did it effect the result...?

I think not!

PS What was Danyle Pearce thinking...?

It does not matter if it effected the result or not. The amount of missed free kicks should not happen at any level let alone AFL Level.

The suprising thing is 2 of the top 3 ranked umpires in 2008 in Rosebury and McInerney umpired the game.

Missed free kicks happen in EVERY game at EVERY level...no one's perfect!

Just like players make mistakes...so start a thread next time about the disgracefull skill level of some players!

They were blatantly biased against the Swans and it showed great fortitude from the boys to overcome it.The holding the ball decisions against Ablett were laughable while Port could throw the ball, drop the ball and dive on the ball with impunity.
Umpire Margetts was intimidated by the crowd and refused to pay the most obvious of holding the ball decisions. How Salopek wasn't pinged in the last quarter was incredible.Micky O gets wacked in the head and the umpire says "no contact".
Happy the boys could overcome such blatantly biased umpiring but then again they cop it every week so they should be used to it.

I really, really hope you're not serious. Perhaps you missed the tackle on a Port player (I forget who) which should've been called for any or all of a push in the back, too high or hanging on and was neither? Chaplin getting smacked in the head in the dying seconds, getting no free and then McVeigh getting a goal? Dean Brogan getting the worst non-decision since Richo in Round 1? The whole game?

Err you might have to be more specific.
I have mentioned 2 obvious free kicks in our forward line which probably would have resulted in goals.Port had more free kicks than Sydney which isn't the be all and end all but it shows you were hardly caned by the umps.
When it is said and done Sydney were more disadvantaged by the umps than Port and the victory was well deserved.
I will get back to demolishing a lovely bottle of red or 2 and singing the praises of Jarred Moore.
Cheers.

This is exactly the sort of bollocks that would have a huge entire proportion here going nuts at swans supporters for starting any such thread.

Sure there were some weird ones and the last term was not umpired the same as the rest of the game.

But added to your issue is Mattner got pushed, Bevan got his head (Hand in Head) pushed into the ground and there were at least 2 clear thrown and 2 holding the ball decisions were there was no prior and no chance of disposal... not to mention motlop swing at Craig Bolton that missed but upper arm still got his head off the ball and the umpire was looking straight at it.

umpires are weird but you have to look at some of your own factors for the loss. you were unlucky to lose Ebert, whoever went a man down was going to be hurting for it in also your second string midfielders disposal when fatigued showed some skill errors as well as your kicking at goal. And pressure, while improving many swans players broke tackles or got the ball out of pack situations to advantage. These are the matches deciding factors.

The Schmidt free kick is the sort of over technical garbage that needs to be removed from the game.

Down the other end Barry commits rape on a weekly basis and an umpire never sees it.

Double standards once again for the darlings of the AFL.

Agreed.

We got owned by the umps, though I think it's due to Choco's outburst, and the AFL wanted to punish him. We played far better then Sydney and we were not rewarded due to bad umpiring. It's starting to get worse then the NBA.

My favourite non-decision was whan a power player, with one hand, THREW the ball onto the foot of a swans player and the ball went out of bounds.

Crowd went nuts looking for the out on the full free.

It was even played in slow motion and not one power supporter could see the bleedin bloody obvious that if any free kick should have been given, it should have been against a blatant power throw! Still laughing :D:D

i thought the umps cost us a 30-40 point win, you cant get a holding the ball v port. Who would of thought a small crowd could influence the umps so well.

Port should just play better if they want to win games in all seriousness and stop sooking over this rubbish
