You know what i really hate, and thats you west preston smart arses running ur useless ****in mouths at an indoor footy centre from the sideline. use actually did it all year last year to people from eltham and ur dada wearing jacket parents dished it out to. Grow some balls and say it to our faces when it comes to the crunch. i have no hesitation to as i did last year without fear. And to be honest indoor footy should suit use cause its "No Contact"....most wanted team in 2009. West Preston Under 19s.

We need to find the cost associated with it (the board have probably gone into that by now) and we need to confirm a ground for this season until our's is ready for the following season.

Okay lets get this straight our roots are from Fitzroy. And when our oval has been redeveloped we will be based in Thornbury, not Fitzroy...But i dont see how we would need criminal checks before we every thing is ticked off before we field our under 19's?

Went past the ground on Sunday and noticed a carnival like atmosphere with what looked like hundreds of people. Anything to do with the Stars? Fundraising for the Club?

It was the World Indigenous People Conference of Education (WIPCE)indigenous people from all over the world have flown over for the it. I wish it were a fundraiser, estimation was somewhere between 1000 - 2000 people were at the ground. They've also hired our Rod Laver arena, so its a pretty big event for all indigenous people around the globe.
This is the reason why we wont be on the oval for the 2009 season. They booked the oval years in advance and the footy club couldn't get it moved.
Closing ceremony is at Rod Laver arena on Thursday.

Speaking from experience Fitzroy Stars are a great footy club who are a great bunch of blokes and passionate about thier footy and thier club. it is a pity a lot of other NFL clubs do not take a leaf out of thier book.
My uncle played there years ago and when he was tragically killed the support they showed at his funeral was second to none( RIP K. Lestrange)
went up to Mernda last night and spoke to a few people seems we have 18 u/19's players already so we will be fielding u/19's again this year.
So if your wanting a game of footy they are training Mon & Wed 6pm until cricket is over. everyone is welcome

saw a copy of the fixture yesterday for division 2 and it is said to be the final fixture pending teams dropping out etc.. 3 teams included which were somewhat surprising were a Bundoora Bulls side, Yarrambat/Montmorency (has there been a merge or something?) and Epping, 2 of those sides last everyone heard had dropped out and unless Bundoora has 2 sides I find this hard to believe.. Also majority of the games were still to be played saturday morning as per last year.. Not many at all on friday night, a few sunday games and a couple after the senior games.. Has anyone got any more information regarding fixtures or anything? Numbers at Mernda jumped monday night at training, hadn't had more then 8-10 players all pre season and had 25 training on monday night, good signs as we'll have a team by round 1 this year..
in the division 2 fixture released yesterday they had a keon park side in it and they have a practise match this weekend against st marys (19s)

Umm just a quiet word reporting in here.... the word down at donath reserve is that Keon Park will field an U19s side this year.. Not quiet the same side they had 2 years ago wen they won there 17s div 3 flag... a few of their players have moved on now to bigger & better things...A few of there 17s from last yr coming up & a few of the older players coming back to play...Not Sure if they will be a dominat force in the division with of course a few clubs are fielding teams with players who have already played 1 season or even 2 in the 19s... But with a mixture of some new bodies playing now they should be competitive this season... Saturday they take on St Marys at home should be a good test for both sides who are now fielding there 1st 19s side in a while....Just Another Quiet Word look out for a little speedster Jayden Smith a lil gun on baller i played with him last year... had a blinder of a season..

Division 2 is being spilt into 3 division based on their ladder postion after they have played every other team. The draw for the last 5 rounds will be done after round 13, not sure how the change will effect the u/19s.
