Jeez, I get busy for a couple of weeks, and this place starts an entirely new thread!

I'm the same, but with the Arsenal subreddit (r/gunners). It has almost instantaneous updates of Arsenal-related transfer news, ranking each source on a certain tier; Ornstein/Arsenal.com is #1, for e.g.

Thanks, will check it out. Although am not getting hopes up too much. I think the extent of business will be Suarez and perhaps one of Nkunku/Perisic.

I have to ask the question, what was the need for Elneny at home to Cardiff ? Why wouldn’t you just play Ramsey or something and Torreira at the DM position ?

The question needs to be asked of Emery. Absolute rubbish line up by him again last night, he has zero idea on how pick a team/set up his team to play against sides willing to concede possession against us.

So Suarez joins and Emery is supposedly going to play him as an wide forward.....don't know enough about the guy so we'll see how that works out.

Sadly looks like its the only deal that's going to get over the line, not really what we want to be hearing.

Good dribbler Suárez but a severe lack of end product, nothing more than a squad player in a good team.

We do need some width at least. Iwobi hit and miss. Welbeck injured. AMN injured. Bellerin injured.

The only real width we seem to have is Kolasinac getting high up on the left.

Not saying I’m gushing over this signing, Suarez is a bit of a journeyman already at a relatively young age. But there is a gap in the squad for a player like him, he’ll be seeing plenty of minutes.

Lame Deadline Day, but to be expected.

My hopes for the Summer window:

Will get back Chambers who could be a decent squad player or sold for a decent wedge, has looked alright for Fulham for under Raneri.

Reiss Nelson can come in and play a good role and fills a wing position.

Send Smith Rowe back to Germany for another 12 months to get some more game time.

Move on/Leaving/Retire-
Cech
Lichensteiner
Ozil (Maybe)
Ramsey
Monreal
Mustafi
El Neny
Ospina
Jenkinson
Welbeck (Sadly :-( )

Let me know if you think I missed anyone.

So is Koscielny out for a while? I’m not sure. It doesn’t seem a broken jaw, which is what was suspected initially.

Arsenal.com has him listed as in full training with bruising/swelling to his jaw. But no idea if that means he’s not currently in contention.

Good list. However in all practicality, that’s a lot of turnover in one window.

At a minimum, we know it’s Cech and Ramsey leaving.

Ospina might return as Leno’s deputy, however would still prefer he was sold. Lichsteiner is a no brainer, shouldn’t be retained.

For me, I’d keep Kos and Nacho for their experience. One more season perhaps. Mavropanos, Holding etc would benefit from their presence.

Mustafi, Elneny should be sold if they can find a club. I’m of the view that one of Mhki/Welbeck should be retained.

And Ozil is the elephant in the room. Just bizarre what is happening. Absent from the squad for a month, then comes back in as captain. Strange times.

His wages are an enormous problem, Arsenal will surely have to subsidise this if a suitable offer is made to sell him. But I don’t think that will happen.

Looks like Kos dodged a bullet and should be in the squad for the City game. Sokratis came off worse - out for another month. Both outcomes are the complete opposite of what was initially reported.
