That was so predictable, even in the first 25 minutes of that second half, I knew somehow Brighton would still get up. Had plenty of chances but just fluffed the final ball, and then we get done by a goal at the other end (excellent header by the way).

First half was just truly awful. Everyone continually blamed Emery - when does the spotlight fall onto the apathetic players?

Haven’t won a league match since October 6th.

We aren’t a big club, we aren’t a good club, we’re a shit club. Get used to it, this is the norm now.

We were actually pretty good for 20 minutes there, at the start of the second half?

The rest.....pass.

We seem pretty good until we get to the edge of the box, then we seem to shit the bed and run out of ideas.
Little dinky passes here and there, dribbling into defenders and loosing the ball to set up a counter attack.

The players got off lightly when Emery was the target of all the critism. Now he is gone it is clear that some of these players are just plain not good enough.

Xhaka far and away our best player that half.

Emery deserved all the criticism he got. He brought in Luiz and that is not just a sackable offence, that's a hanging offence. He continued to play that worthless piece of shit as well as Kolasinac and brought Ozil back into the side and now, we have Ljunberg who is way, way out of his depth and will never make a manager/coach going by his ridiculous selections. Zhaka should never, ever have been allowed to wear an Arsenal shirt again and how in f**k's name Tierney and Pepe don't start is just unbelievable.

I hear and see people talking about bringing in this manager or that in order to "kick the players up the arse" but that is just ridiculous! If you kick donkeys up the arse, it does not make 'em do anything different! You are right to a degree about the players getting off lightly but the players are crap and even if they try their guts out, they are still crap and yet, the imbeciles that have been our managers still keep picking them.

I heard a comment from some fella saying that the some fans have a "fanboy culture", that is, fans supporting players more than the club and he is dead right. I have been a victim of this fanboy culture from some around here. Szczesny was an absolute f****ng useless lump of shit that cost us time and time again but the cult of personality meant that some were willing for the club and team to suffer waiting to see if that f****ng useless **** could grow a pair of balls and miraculously turn into a proper EPL 'keeper. Ozil the same - more love for some spoilt **** than the club and then of course, we have Luiz. How the f**k can anyone that says they have an idea about soccer say that Luiz is a good defender? How the f**k! The **** is useless and yet the moment anyone dares to say so, they get told they don't know what the f**k they are talking about! Bellerin is the same - a f****ng pyjama model getting more support than the club and why, fashion!!! Arsenal is not a social club, we are, were actually, one of the great football clubs on earth.

Fashion doesn't win you games nor titles and here we are, after years of worrying more about precious gits than the club, here we are fighting for survival in the Premier League. We are the ONLY club since the Second World War to have never been out of the First Division/Premier League and now we find ourselves needing 21 points out of the remaining 23 games to MAYBE stave off relegation. Of those games we play Man. City twice, West Ham twice, Chelsea twice, Man. Utd., Wolves, Leicester, Tottenham and Liverpool. We also play Palace away and Sheffield Utd. at home. That's 13 of our remaining games in which we will struggle to get any points. If we manage 6 points out of those games, we still need 15 from the other 10 games, 6 of which are away from home. We are in trouble.

Two strikes against Freddie so far one more and I will be calling for his head. I don't expect immediate performances and results but how ****ing hard is it to put the best 11 on the pitch that fit together. The players deserve a lot of criticism themselves but it doesn't help that Emery and now Freddie are putting square pegs in round holes and the players are running around like headless chickens as a result.

Also should be a new transfer policy of not signing anyone over 28. Time to rebuild the club and get fresh talent whilst developing our own.

I tried to give Freddie this game to make sure he got his lineup right and he still didn’t. I’m starting to think the coaches might not have any control over team selections anymore or they are too friendly with certain players because the choices are baffling.

That is the only excuse I can see for Freddie's line ups. He may not have control over team selections and it is not as far fetched as it sounds. Technical/Football director - does that mean that before a coach does anything, he needs to get the OK from this "director" and what happens if the "director" disagrees with what the coach wants to do? As I read it, if the "shadow" coach says nay, then the coach can't put into action what he has decided because the director is above the coach so the coach must follow the directors directions!

Who knows, it may have been the same with Emery too! This whole Director of Football thing is becoming a bit of a joke in general.

Yep. I believe Newcastle United had a coaching director in place in 2008, or around that time which from memory, the Newcastle fans dubbed the "London Mafia". That was the beginning of a rapid decline and they have been struggling ever since. Dennis Wise was the "director of football".
