Not to mention we are already bringing in Zubimendi apparently for 50 million or so not sure how much we will have to spend.

Saw something about Dhuran apparently being a bit of a trouble maker too at Villa so might have been a good thing we don’t go for him.

What was better than watching that replay? The repeat replay :D

That was ****ing glorious.

It was just the kind of result Arsenal needed. A genuine **** off statement win. Like I mentioned before, remember how often we would be flicked aside by the big boys in the league? And then a nice little pat on the head afterwards, well done for trying, better luck next time.

Arsenal clearly rattled City, I was amazed in the fallout from the late equaliser a few months ago at how under their skin Arsenal seemed to be. It was bizarre, and felt a bit out of nowhere.

However very telling. It’s the kind of spicyness that I actually miss. Because Arsenal were irrelevant for so long, why would we even be in a position to play matches of such stature and form a genuine new age rivalry? Not since Wenger vs Ferguson or Wenger vs Jose for example have we been in this situation. I relish it, and welcome it. It makes for such compelling viewing. Sport needs this kind of spectacle I feel. And I have no doubt that Pep and the City players would’ve filed away the MLS celebration for the next encounter, which is all part of the theatre.

MLS and Nwaneri are the first teenagers to both score in a PL match since 2007 I read. That’s wild. The confidence from both of them to take the shot on is incredible. MLS on his wrong foot. And the sequence where Nwaneri scored is a thing of beauty, almost 1 minute 40 in possession, 30+ passes and Nwaneri is screaming for the ball at top of screen with his hands up. A beautiful pass from Rice sends him off and from there it’s a ridiculously good finish. The icing on the cake.

Partey, Rice and MLS were imperious here. Take your pick for motm. However everyone else was at minimum an 8/10. Which is what you need in the big games.

A special mention to Raya. What would Arsenal’s points tally be without him this season? Even though we’re somehow still kind of in contention for the title (as unlikely as it is, it’s still possible) we would be out of the picture without Raya. Those two first half saves were crucial. The skill to tip the ball over the bar from point blank range with his left hand - that’s the 1% difference that makes all the difference.

It’s a magnificent performance from Arsenal and properly deserved. A rare thumping that Arsenal dishes out. We’ve been on the receiving end many times so we sure as hell owed one back.

And with this momentum and confidence heading into Newcastle second leg this week, who knows? Score the first goal early there and it’s on like donkey kong.

And now, I still await the Orn bomb haha.

It's certainly a nice feeling going into matches against the "big clubs" now with a sense of being able to win, rather than dread. 17 games unbeaten against the "top 6" under Arteta.

Last nights game was probably the best we've played all season, although I will caveat that by saying City do look very short of the standards they've set over the last 7-8 years. Given City's lack of composure and what I thought was a very smart press from us, City did give up a lot of opportunities they wouldn't have years past.

Big shout-out to Rice/Party. They absolutely dominated City's midfield. Party, was winning everything and driving forward, rewarded with a deflected goal. Rice over the last 2 months has been almost perfect in his role.

Myles Lewis-Skelly is having one of the dream breakout seasons. What can you say about an 18 yr old that not only doesn't look out of place, but is one of the best players on a premier league pitch week in week out? Crazy to think his full back roll isn't even his best position. Last night, to me, showed without doubt that he will eventually slot into a center-mid roll; his ability to pick up the ball deep from the keeping, break the lines and power forward while protecting the ball is worth its weight in gold in the current game. Add that to his goal, picking the ball up....confidence to run, create a little space and the technique to bend and place the finish......ooooh boy.

Nwaneri is in the same boat. Came on last night and you could instantly see the hunger to get at city and score. He doesn't look out of place as a right winger, but he's got all the abilities to be an Odegaard replacement or as a possible number #10.

It's nice to see that the youth academy is bringing through proper first team talents. I know, there has been a few over the last few years....but apart from ESR (obviously excluding Saka) none of them have ever looked like having a possible starting 11 role. Fingers crossed we can get a 250/300 game players out of these two.

Also, i'm not going to bother talking about the "Halaand celebration" "be humble" etc etc. Just remember;

Arsenal aren't allowed to celebrate draws.
Arsenal aren't allowed to celebrate wins.
Arsenal aren't allowed to respond to previous mocking.

What a win. The Hale End boys are unreal.

At the start of the season who would have predicted that MLS would be our starting LB?

As for this window - what a failure. Even the Spuds have been able to get some loan deals done. Shit start for Ayo, or whatever his name is.

Nails it all as usual. Whilst understandable. We’ve rolled the dice here and there’s now significant pressure on Havertz over the next few months.
