Sanogo really shouldn't be in our squad at this point in time, let alone being our starting striker.

Is he just giving Giroud a world cup rest like the Germans, only not as long because the French didn't last as long?

I mean we played Giroud into the ground last season, and then he want straight on to the world cup and the quarter finals, this might be some kind of modulated break

Yes that would make sense. The World Cup affects a lot of clubs, even Sanchez looks a bit short of fitness.

But the gap between Sanogo and Giroud is quite considerable. He will come good eventually, but really should be out on loan.

Hopefully Campbell features against Besiktas, even off the bench.

That is clearly the case.

Surely you guys aren't assuming Wenger considers Sanogo ahead of Giroud now? It's not even close.

Don't know much about him though I'm always worried about signing players from the Greek league. That's one shitty league!

Finally got to watching the game. Couple of things I noticed;
  • Chambers seemed to get up the field too often. I know we had 75% (or whatever it was) possession, but against good teams, that wont be good.
  • Sanchez looked better on the right, but he fits the team better on the left, especially once Walcott returns. That would push Cazorla out of the team. Not fussed with that, but cant see Cazorla enjoying being a bench warmer.
  • Wilshere looked ok in his spot, not as defensively susceptible as I expected, didn't do anything too stupid/hot headed either.
  • Debuchy was solid without being spectacular. Watching him makes me realise just how good Sagna was, especially with his crosses.

News before the Besiktas game, Kos has flown with the team and Mertesacker hasn't while Gibbs and Sanogo havn't flown due to soft tissue injuries...brilliant start to the season injury wise

Not signing Cesc at the buy back price was absolute stupidity & Wenger will be reamed for it... I would not have minded if we fixed our problems but do we have our 30 goal a year CF? do we have our beast DM next to Rambo? Yes we still would have lacked some width without Cesc but he is a lot better player than Cazorla who aint a winger anyways...
