I cringe come this time of year with all the garbage we picked up over the last few years, I hope Simmo has some more class about his selections than Worsfold lets face it JON seriously Woosh ? and last year Cale Morton ?? really ? now there is talk of bloody bushy Bootsma ffs, Deja vu all over again.

Both originally top 10 picks that were stuck at teams with poor records of developing talent, and cost us a fourth-round rookie draft pick and a pick in the 80s respectively.

If they were Woosha's biggest mistakes it's no wonder he got 12 years in the job.

Bootsma is a contracted player; we're going to have to pay market value/overs to make this happen.

Not if Carlton have put him on the trade table, they can't seriously rate him if they've done that. We've probably got someone lined up in the draft at our second round pick and are considering options should we lose out on Yeo.

I saw we formally offered our 2nd rounder for yeo but I can't find anything of an official source ! It's either bull shower or we are stupid !

I'm thinking/hoping we have lined up Bootsma just to say to the Lions we will use 40 to get Bootsma if they dont want it and then we will take Yeo in the PSD.

Was from a Facebook rumour page, it was nothing formal otherwise you imagine it would be done by now.

Are we all of a sudden trusting an FB website? I'll wait until it comes from at least the HUN, Trade Week Radio or Fairfax before I get concerned. I'm still confident we have some cards up our sleeves.

It's not our club's style to talk excessively about our deals until they get done; Brisbane's Kerr was absolutely using the media appearance he did as leverage to force us to act, and in the process he gave up a bit too much information in the process, that is now contradicted by the Gumbleton - 33 deal.

What information did he give up?

Told us Freo were interested and that they'd done a medical on Yeo, yet at the same time reports were leaking that Freo wanted Gumby with 33, effectively rendering Brisbane's info a bluff, as Freo won't be giving up a first rounder and the shape of their list doesn't warrant trading a player.

Regardless, this point is null and void given the Gumby trade hasn't occurred and his own manager laughed at the suggestion of 33, so who really knows anything until it happens?

LoL excellent, but Yeo wont be getting any game time at both clubs either way. When we get back Hurn, Waters, Schofield ... there wont be a spot for him.

I reckon you guys will find a way to squeeze him in the midfield or backline. As I said, If he was at Freo, he would stuggle to get in our 22 in 2014 but by 2015, he would take over Paul Duffields spot in the half back flank/ back pocket.

Crazy Woosha!:p

To be honest, I can't see Waters getting too much game time. Rumors saying he's got another big injury and the fact that when ever he did play this year he played like my Grandmother, and not the good way.

Also Ash Smith.

The new match commitee will hopefully only selected fit players. I am still haunted by the Essendon game in Perth from Waters where he wasn't even 50% fit. Poor skills and personified by that kick to no one which resulted in a TO and Essendon goal.

This is off topic. I think under Simpson players like Yeo (if we get him) will rotate in midfield/half forward and not be fixed as a backman as he may have been in the past regime.

Don't get me wrong getting Yeo would be good for depth, the thing your forgetting is 2013 wasn't the end of the West Coast football club. Our list over 2 years has grown and if you blanked out this season its a way better list than Freo's as we were being touted as flag favorites back in the preseason. Yes it derailed with injuries and yes when we did get our players back the gameplan seemed to be based around the old forward flood, how ever we have better forwards in Kennedy-Darling-LeCras, better backs with Glass-Mckenzie-Hurn, better ruck combo with Cox-Naitanui its just our midfield group which unfortunately needs correcting and with a fit Wellingham in there we are looking very good indeed.

The AFL has attacked Channel 7 over its coverage and is set to sell rights for the next 10 years for at least $1 billion.

Now there are reports that TESLTRA is sniffing around after the rights. My god - Telstra? At least Seven has experience in how to manage broadcasting. Telstra cannot even get it right with telephones so why on Earth do they think they can handle the footy?

Not buying.
Better lists generally produce better onfield results.
Particularly with the disparity between the two teams this year.

Well thats because your an idiot. We took massive injuries to our midfield. We lost Selwood, Wellingham, Naitanui, Shuey, and Kerr all for extended periods in our weakest position on the field. This is a big thing.

Throw in missing our two main medium defenders in Hurn and Waters and we are scraping the sides of the barrel. We got screwed on injuries to very key players.

I am well aware of the injuries we had this year. However Freo too had injuries. Though not to the extent that we had injuries. Their list proved to have more depth than ours. Out of the midfielders you mentioned Naitanui was far and away our biggest loss. Selwood and Shuey struggled to have substantial impact pre-injury. Kerr no longer is reliable and the loss of Wellingham was of hopeful improvement rather than actual output (improvement demonstrated for the most part in the latter part of the year mind you). Then there's Waters. Hmm his form outside of injury in 2013 was not good enough to point to his loss being a major contributing factor to the disparity between West Coast and Fremantle. We may theoretically line up well on many fronts against them but we fail in the key areas of midfield and depth.
