I'm guessing two sides forming and joining the tdfl is the most likely answer! Who joins together? Maybe bullioh/feds, alternate grounds train the wk at that Saturdays venue. corryong/cudge/walwa same thing but maybe play only the 1/2 at walwa due to change rooms and ground not 100% maybe the bullioh/Feds game Dunno!! Junior football numbers still might be an issue but allows for more netballers and a bit of local rivalry!

Joining the TDFL is an option and one which i believe we could all get behind. Mayve it is the future? But it does become dependent on the TDFL accepting a team or two teams into their competition. Anyone out there know TDFL stance on this? I'am not really a TDFL person, but doing this would require these sides to have U14's/17's/reserves and senior teams. This would require 50+ senior footballers and 50+ junior footballers and also U12/U14 and 17 netballers plus senior netballers from the communities which are struggling to survive as we speak. Are there aeough players in these towns?
These families and players would have to be willing to travel from their homes (Corryong, Cudgewa, Bullioh or Walwa) all the way down to Wagunyah which is looking at Google maps around two hours away. I think the conversation is only just beginning because any change in the UM would affect the whole football landscape in North East Victoria.

Merge 1 team in the Tdfl simple you would only have to go to wahgunyah every second year. There is already a big group going down now because you can not provide a junior comp

I am not saying that this needs to happen but imagine how much easier it would be if mergers occurred between Wahgunyah and Rutherglen, Tallangatta and Bullioh as well as Feds, Corryong and Cudgewa.
That would puke ease pressure on volunteers, supporters and would mean sides were potentially looking for hundreds less players to fill teams each Saturday.

Good idea, it would certainly make things a lot easier if the clubs were able to join together, but i feel the TDFL clubs wouldn't be interested in these changes. UM seems open to the idea, if small, that a merger may happen. Rutherglen and Wahgunyah would be years off. I feel unfortunately this may be too late for some clubs.

2 chances of Bullioh and tallangatta merging, they’ve already been there. I think a Bullioh/Bethanga (Wodonga Saints) merger is more likely. Where does tumba fit into all this talk?

Tumba would then move to the Farrah league where they would potentially have more recruiting power from Wagga being in an outer Wagga based league

Tumba seem to have a reasonable squad and have been able to carry a reserves side for the year? This will allow them to have a chance in a the farrah league. What's facilities like up there?

I agree Johnny Walwa could join aswell or Walwa can go to the Upper Murray Eagles

Eagles, Magpies, Dockers, Suns, and Giants all don't have teams in the TDFL.
I'm sure those are all options they will look at.
Home Grounds will be a sticking point.

I think it makes sense to spread the games around. I think most clubs would actually enjoy only having to cater for 2-3 home games each season like Rand Walbundrie Walla who all get 3 each or Mitta United who play 5 at Eskdale and 4 at Mitta. Each town brings its own volunteers and that means each town only has to call on their volunteers a smaller amount of times each season. People would start enjoying the footy more then because they could attend without being relied on to do all the jobs each week.

A composite team in the TDFL is the most sustainable model. The sooner the planning takes place the better so that a sound proposal can be lodged with the TDFL so that 2020 is a possibility, otherwise 2021.
Letting things roll along for a few more years will mean UM clubs could fall by the wayside and a composite side harder to get going and have good support for.

Wow Evan not named in the Corryong side to take walwa this weekend what’s the go there is there one very unhappy demon up in gods country

I see Evan has officially been replaced as coach at Corryong. Anyone got the inside mail on what’s happened. He’s obviously been a very very loyal club person for a long time.

Couple of Articles in today's BM around the future of the league. A fortnight until a final decision? What's everyones thoughts? Will we see an UMFL next season??

Looking like the league is done, just a matter of how they put it all together. Would Bullioh and Tumba want to merge with the 4 Corryong based clubs?

Bullioh would be a possibility to move to TDFL? Join with the four Corryong teams to create one large UM team?
Tumba would be far to hard to work with due to the travel distance to the closest league??

It seems things are coming along with the discussions then.
