I have read his book of his life. I will say I was more than surprised that he was Trumps running mate.

His book, Hillbilly Elegy gave an indication of why Trump had a collective of people disaffected by modern politics enough to see him as a saviour as there was a group who had a reasonably OK life on the back of factory work where they had a decent house, a car, a community to raise their family...and right or wrong, that seemed to be taken away from them from both sides and Trump, reached out to those people.

His life, to be born into a shitty, drunken, Appalachian family in the woods, to be saved by his grandparents, to be forced to do school, to be saved from himself, to go to Iraq (or Afghanistan but I think it was Iraq)and then better himself to the point he pushed himself to become the best he could be, going to a University that he felt he did not belong in, because it was the best ( It was Yale) and make more of a man of himself.

Then to go back to his community and help disadvantaged kids because it was the right thing to do, to pay it forward...

I get people dislike Trump, I get it, but Vance, read his book (it is a great read), he is everything America says it stands for, you can be born anything but you can become anything. His grandmother was amazing.

I haven't read his book but saw the film a few years ago. That was before he was a Senator. It was really inspirational. He had as tough a life as anyone could have. Funny Glenn Close a rabid Dem played the grandmother part.
I was surprised with his selection for VP but he has come through as an exciting candidate for the next President. He ripped Walz a new one at the debate. Super intelligent. Married with bi-racial kids. His wife is probably more qualified than he is.

On the election trail he took questions from all unlike his opponents who had only prewritten responses.

I just saw this on X.

What a tripper, the answer is right in front of her, she actually said it and yet she still blames the right for being racist and sexist.

I don't think she is bright enough to realise she is calling out the left for being racist and sexist.

Scary that this is the quality of education in US universities.

Anyway I hope the bottle shop worker she took the piss out of gives it back to her next time she's in buying her Moet.

One of her many mis-steps was her answering the very basic question "You've been there as VP for 4 years, what would you have done differently than Biden?"

That was her big chance to show what she was made of, instead she replied "Nothing".

She took ownership of the clusterfxxx of the last 4 years.

Well obviously not as this woman is a former University Faculty member. Hasn't taught at a university for over 10 years according to LinkedIn. So really she is the kind of person that gets pushed out of University. Her area of study was public budgeting and finance, so she is operating outside her wheelhouse here. She has just shy of 270k followers on Tiktok, videos on 4/11 didn't crack 400k view, so millions may be a stretch from this Rugg guy.

She basically said "I, like Biden and the Democrat establishment, love genocide, and I don't care that millions of Americans who would have voted for me think that we should maybe cut down the Israel dick riding from 6 days a week to 5".

Not really, she basically said "we'll open the gates and allow everyone to enter our country with no checks for 3 years and then belatedly we will acknowledge that was a terrible idea so we will introduce a bill that limits it to 5k a day" and "we'll make horrendous decisions that will impact the lives of the average American by forcing up the cost of living".
