For trans people in general, if a tiny subset of the population are happier to identify as a woman because they have severe gender dysphoria it’s no skin off my nose. For the 0.00000001% of cases where it impacts on things like athletics set up sensible policies to deal with it and move on. Where this impacts kids, agree with avoiding anything permanent/irreversible until 18 years, but numerous surveys and data on rates of mental illness & suicide show that there is enormous damage done to trans kids in the interim. Society needs to do better by them, and as a general rule of thumb people need to stop being c***s to others who are different to them, basically. Address this, and I’m sure it will reduce some of the pressure these kids feel to ask for radical physical changes to their biology at such a young age, just to ‘fit in’.

I think your privileges to talk about who’s an expert and what science is, have been revoked for life.

The same is true for RFKs other ideas like removing fluoride from the water supply, or drinking raw milk, or HIV denial. It’s also true for the myriad of false claims you’ve made in here over the years that I’ve had the pleasure of dismantling.

I do agree with you though that there are many things wrong with America, including its health system, and that change has been needed in a number of areas for a long time. The answer to this is to appoint people with expertise, experience and integrity to overhaul these systems, not village crackpots who seem intent on taking us back to the 19th century. Look, I know you’re all attempting to run a million miles from the “trans youth” issue now that you’ve seen the intensity with which it makes regular, normal people recoil in horror and disgust.

Using the phrase “trans kids” makes it self evident that you agree it’s a legitimate thing and you endorse it as exactly that.

It isn’t a thing. It is a destructive scam perpetuated on innocent children by mentally ill adults.

Firstly, society needs to do better by trans kids

For the small number of kids in this situation and their parents, I can understand the rationale for wanting to explore medical care including transition as a last resort if this is driving the distress and mortal danger that they might be in.

• People who are Covid vaccine-injured after being mandated to take it and now can’t get compensation.
• People who no longer have trust in their nation’s institutions, medical or otherwise, because of the rampant corruption and abuse of power.

Btw, are you ever going to address that Covid report that reveals the extent to which Australians were abused by, and no longer trust, their governments, leaders and medical institutions?

Its like they have purpose made amnesia to somehow have an ability to completely ignore the destruction inflicted on the US over the last 4 years and the damage done by them to the previous Trump admin in the previous 4. Then that amnesia passes and they suddenly get an urge to become the most critical concerned people of the lot on what 'might' happen now Trump is in (forgetting that he has a mandate to fix the shitshow left from the last 4 years). I remember kirky whining about whether the police used pepper spray or tear gas to disperse the violent mob trying to storm the White House while the sitting president was in residence...yet he was completely silent as dozens of American women were killed by illegals, Millions of illegals were brought in to the country, fentanyl deaths reached the hundreds of thousands, 3 new regional wars began under the watch of the outgoing mob etc etc etc. These people who had selective amnesia are some of the dumbest people you could wish to find.

Hi Guys, happy to debate the election and the Trump era going forward. Assuming it remains civil and respectful otherwise I just CBF as wasting all of our times.

As I said on the other thread, US democracy has spoken and an unpopular Govt chucked out - in a more extreme way than expected but I was telling others to watch the election odds which showed Trump strong fave and which is a reliable historical indicator. So the loss wasnt a surprise, esp considering previous 'under-polling' for Trump in 2016 and 2020 but the severity was surprising IMO.

Why did the Dems lose? Reps ran a rational campaign focusing on the 2 key weaknesses of (1) economics (inflation, cost of living and feeling 'worse off' than 4 years ago) and (2) US national security through illegal immigrants flooding in. Other stuff which were lesser issues of the 'sex change' stuff which I dont know enough about to debate but very clearly agree that people born men should NEVER be able to compete against women after a sex change (or be in the same change rooms etc). Not sure how frankly anyone would argue otherwise for these points

My personal take on these 2 major issues:

(2) the easy one first. This was a clear fail by Dems and a real weakness for Harris in particular. No issue with this. The way forward is much more complex re getting rid of the illegal immigrants in the US but agree 100% to stop the flow of new arrivals as a priority. You decide if Trump did or didnt impact the bi-partisan bill that would have beefed up border security last year.
(1) The economy. The US is deemed a 'goldilocks' economy under Biden in the financial world for seemingly providing a 'soft landing' (not a recession) as I/rates GLOBALLY have jumped significantly in recent years. Why have they jumped? Global inflation which the US hasnt been immune to. Which major western national is effectively deemed at doing the best job at curtailing inflation (and back towards the Federal Reserve target range of 2%) is the US. So almost back to ideal inflation levels (2.4% annualised), good GDP growth and low U/E. Besides 40+ record highs on the share market this year (before last weeks meltdown which many attribute to Trumps new appointments). The US economy is currently in very good shape. No excuses for things to get worse from here as everything is tracking in the right direction as per the 3 key economic variables stated. Didnt mention US deficit which is massive and has been for decades since Bretton Woods disbanded but my understanding is Trumps expected deficit is MATERIALLY higher than the Dems was likely to be

So going forward some of Trumps main policies which I would welcome feedback on my his fans:

- Tariffs of 20-60%. What do you expect the impact to be on US inflation, unemployment, GDP levels and global trading partners propensity to bring in retaliatory tariffs which has been the historical norm in most instances. Any concerns or good policy?

- Getting rid of illegal immigrants already in the US - estimates of anything from $100b to round up 1m people to costing 800b+++ to get everyone out. Social issues and bloodshed. What impact on the economy if you take out millions of low paid workers from the employment pool doing the jobs many US citizens dont want to do? Likely to cause supply of labour shortages? Likely to see cost of labour increasing?

- Tax cuts - low paid workers will be same/slightly worse off under Trumps tax policy whilst the top 5% of income earners get material tax cuts. Good policy? Trickle down economics expected? Clearly Harris was going to tax this top 5% of income earners more and provide material tax cuts to the lowest 40% of income earners. We already see the new age economy failing many in society as they fall behind - hence part of the disenchantment with western nations globally backing more right leaning nationalist parties - but with the top 1% of rich US citizens owning more than the bottom 90% are Trumps policies going to make this situation better or worse?

Interested in peoples views on these 3 core Trump policies for starters? FYI, I am ordinarily a right of centre voter and have consistently voted Coalition since Howard got in (after coming from a very working class family and initially voting labour under Hawke/Keating) and have been a swing voter a couple of times in the last 20 years
